Art_Critic
should i work at mcdonalds and make 6.50 an hour and have the best boss anyone can ever have? or should i work for walgreens making 9.75 per hour having a boss who likes to swear at his employees? At your age I'd work at walgreens for 9.75 .. That's about 25.00 a day more Quite a big difference .. the boss you can handle.. and if after a while you get tired of it you can always go to mc'ds
NTB
i gotta agree with AC dang walgreens pays 9.
alphamale
At your age I'd work at walgreens for 9.75 .. That's about 25.00 a day more I would agree...and having a jerk for a boss will be good preparation for life $3.25 x 2080 hrs = $6,760 more per year. Take out taxes and you have enough to buy yourself a decent used car.
quankanne
who offers the better health benefits plan, one where you're not paying out the nose for health care? Chances are, it's Walgreen's ....
Toni_no12002
I agree with everyone else.Dont work for maccies. If your boss isnt very nice to you make a complaint about him then maybe he'll treat you a bit nicer!Or even have a word with him tell him you dont like the way he is to you.If he still does it then ask to talk to someone else about it.There are rules on how employees are supposed to be treat and im sure swearing at them doesnt come into it! gevoraksix
My vote, Walgreens making 9.75 per hour and having a boss who likes to swear at his employees.
magda
Do it for the money. If the mgr likes to swear at his employees, perhaps he's on his way out. Or what about neither.. find another company that's willing to pay you on the same scale as Walgreens.
RecordProducer
The boss may change or be replaced. You can always go work for McD. In fact the record work time at McDonalds is about one year. People don't stay there for longer than a few months... hard job, low pay. I wouldn't know though..
Gold Pile
You're going to have many bosses in your future. Some will be Aholes, get used to it, its a fact of life. Go with the green or you'll never have a pile of gold:)
933KJL
Agreed. There are plenty of departments at Walgreens and you can probably insulate yourself from your abusive boss. Who knows how long the best boss in the world will be at McDs anyhow. Walgreens I am sure has a much better benefit program--company owned, versus McDs which is probably franchised. Also Walgreens probably offers an employee discount of 20% or more which can be extended to your family. The additional $$$ are a perk as well. FWIW, I once heard a statistic that at on point in their life, 50% of today's workforce at one point worked for McDonalds--pretty staggering. (Not sure if that is true or not, but it seemed like a good factoid)
wx3
i think you can handle being yelled at.. its like a sports coach,a parent, or a teacher.. they dont hate you, they just want you to do things right.
HotCaliGirl
You might eat too many hamburgers and fries at McDonald's, so even if it was equal pay, consider working for the a-hole until you find a better environment to work in...
