goldengirl11
I'm 40 and have been reflecting a lot lately on my past 'relationships' with men, and I say that with inverted commas because they have been short-lived or experiences more than anything. I am especially upset re one man in particular, who knocked spots off the rest in my opinion, but who who was one of the two who ultimately hurt me. I live alone with no children, but I desperately need to feel more content with life. I'm not even happy in my new job I started in January, after months of being unemployed. I've been on anti-depressants for a few years, but if I'm honest have been on and off them over the years (since my late teens).

d0nnivain
What's your Q? Are you looking for suggestions about how to be happier / more content in your life? I suggest the following: 1. exercise 2. sunshine 3. a gratitude journal 4. surrounding yourself with upbeat people 5. having hobbies or interests that bring you joy

Do you need a medication review/some counselling? -is the new job working out ok? Are you going through an adjustment period? -what do you do to make yourself feel happy on a daily basis? It's easy to feel like a failure, especially if you live in a culture/environment where people often pretend everything is wonderful! Everyone feels lonely or inadequate or a failure sometimes. And having children or a partner won't change that, it doesn't make life perfect. But life doesn't have to be perfect to feel happy and find peace for much of the time. Hope you are ok.
