Good to know I am not the only one who doesn't have a crystal ball. Guess professional doesn't have a crystal ball either.

If the professionals had crystal balls, they wouldn't need to work for a living 😉

RIP. People died or are dying...

maybe it's not respectful to talk about stock and profit now? I don't know. I have only been concern how it affects me. but there is nothing me and/or anyone here can do. Sorry.

I think it's normal to worry about how things affect us.  My suggestion of counting blessings is because it's what I do when things seem overwhelming.    It's too easy for we humans to be caught up in the negative without considering all the positive around us.

I pretty much already live my life like I'm on quarantine so not much has changed for me!

I used to think that...before starting actual quarantine.

To answer the OP, my world hasn't quite stopped, but not far off.

Quarantine is a weird experience. Being forced to stay indoors at all times with zero going out is totally different to choosing to do so of your own volition, especially when no one else around you has to do it (no lockdown in the UK).

You have to stay isolated away from family members, too - impossible when you have young kids in the house obviously, especially one who is ill, so we resigned to keeping 2 metres distance at all times (with one bedtime cuddle, because we like to live dangerously).

I thought I'd be fine with it being autistic, and in some ways it's not that bad, but it becomes claustrophobic very quickly. Even when I was in intensive care, I got to leave my room in a wheelchair after 3 days.

On the plus side, I already know my next walk by the lake will be pure heaven...

The strangest thing for me has been experiencing a sort of resentment from a couple of people who think you're over-dramatising. It's completely surreal. We were put on quarantine by medical professionals who decided that my son was a possible case - that was absolutely not my choice.

While most people have been really supportive, there were a couple of sniggers. As if I wanted my kid to be sick. It's thrown me off kilter quite a bit, and I know I shouldn't care, but I do.

Just anyone.. Apparently, not crystal ball, but insider.

Well my world is coming to (almost) a complete halt.

For a start, as an extrovert trying to recover from social anxiety, this couldn't have come at a worse time. The cracks are starting to show in my relationship - the lack of sex mentioned in a previous thread appears to be the symptom of much bigger problems. I've lost a large chunk of my support network since a lot of my friends are stuck in other countries, or going into isolation already. I can't go see family since they all work in essential services, so they need to see as few people as possible - I don't want to be the one who inadvertently takes out those services. I applied for a job in another city, which even if successful I may not be able to start if we go into lockdown.

One positive is that my current job could keep me going for a few more months (at least July, if not October), and I can easily work from home. So at least I'm financially stable for the foreseeable future.

Funny. 😀   I live about 35 miles from the Tampa Stadium.  I'm a Bucs fan now.  I like Gisele as well.  But the women like Tom.  An maybe there's some women here who don't know who Tom is and they think it's me. 😉

Piddy, you will have the women FLOCKING to you.  You better stay on the golf course and away from Clearwater Beach.  I say this for  your own protection.

I actually talked to a Bucs player in the last couple of days and they were STOKED that he is coming to town.  It will be a huge boost to a small market like

Tampa.  I was surprised that he didn't have more suitors but at some point it's hard to "get around the #42.

Saw the Tom news in the media as well. but come on he is 43...how long can he stay as a top player? and they replaced a 26 year old with him. um...wonder if it's really a good move.

Spring, please never FORGET that FOOTBALL (NFL) is a HUGE business.  This is a SUPER business decision for the Bucs.  Brady playing great is

a major bonus.

I suspected it is about name recognition. but I don't know how that translate into money and business. I don't know how people make money in the game or other games....merchandise? viewership? ticket? I don't really watch NFL:( but he is so famous and I read his book a bit in the bookstore.

All the things you mentioned will be by products of the him playing for the Bucs.  Plus, their former QB was a turnover machine (IE:  he threw the ball to the other

team A LOT).  I think you are going to watch the Bucs this season. Am I right?

Today my world kinda stopped, beside the normal social distancing and nothing being able to be bought in the grocery stores my son who worked hard and got onto and was part of a baseball team to play in Cooperstown, NY to play against other 12 year olds from across the country in later June and early July was devastated to learn that they canceled the 2020 Cooperstown tournaments.

it is a once in a life time thing and only select 12 year olds get to play and can't play next year as he would be 13.

My heart breaks for him.

they did say they might open up slots in the 2021 season but it hasn't been decided yet...

I know it seems small considering all that is happening right now but it isn't to him.. He is now being home schooled thru the public school system and has been thru quite a big shock this week and now he finds out something he has worked and dreamed hard for is gone... Sometimes it sucks being a parent.

So far, the US only has 4,567 reported cases. China has 80,880. Italy 27,980. Iran 14,991. Spain 9,942. South Korea 8,236. Not to say it can't get that bad here, but I just don't think it will. But it's just best to not panic.

So this was 5 days ago.   Yesterday afternoon as of 4pm over 15,000 confirmed cases, now if this morning near 20,000,

Of confirmed by test cases.  Which is undercounting the actual cases.

just want to know what’s the magic number to be concerned

if you look at the data, lots of convenient graphs, we are following the Italy trajectory...

I don’t understand the whole “being quarantined is killing me “ thing. Not trying to make light, we’re all different. But for me, not having to deal with random visitors or make excuses not to make plans, is great! I enjoy the solitude. I love everything about it! I have everything right here at home to keep me happy and content.  🙂 This isn’t lack of freedom to me. This is the definition of freedom!

I understand this line of thinking and in my free time I often choose to isolate. I still like to have the OPTION be there, even if I don’t use it.

I hope everyone stays safe as well as your loved ones.  You can still SMILE during social distancing (I think). If you know an elderly people and

can check on them do so and if they are need maybe help them if you can.

I'm sorry to hear this. :( I think it's a lot harder for those who are living alone, especially if they have a partner whom they can't see as easily (and my heart breaks for the long-distance couples at the moment).

I'm an introvert as well (like, I tend to get about 99% "I" in MBTI tests  ) and I don't really agree. It's not really the lack of socializing that is the problem for me , but rather the effects on amenities and even solo activities. The stupid hoarders made half of our groceries run out, and they had to stop doing deliveries here. I can't sit in a cafe and read a book. I can't go take a walk in the city or beach if H takes the car to work, because I'd be reliant on public transport. I can't get my glasses fixed or my hair cut.

Previously I don't get random visitors anyway (frankly, if anyone thought it was polite to show up unannounced at my house, they'd quickly find out that I don't answer my doorbell when I'm not expecting anyone... ;) ), and I just say "no" if I don't want to make plans with anyone... so there isn't really an upside for me.

I'm autistic and introverted (not necessarily to be conflated) and really like peace and quiet more than anything. I'm currently quarantined and it sucks beyond belief because

1. you absolutely can't go out. At all. You shouldn't really be leaving your room (I can't do that on account of having kids) and

2. If you're put on quarantine, it means someone in your family has symptoms.

Not really freedom.

Apologies. Of course that wouldn’t be good. That’s bad and I’m sorry. Maybe I misunderstood the post.
It was just my personal opinion and I guess subject to change if I was in your circumstances. But for now, I’m just saying. I was built for this kind of thing. I’m sorry to any others in this thread if my being ok with it doesn’t ring true for yourselves in your own circumstances. Hang in there.
