Forgetting about love right now?

Recommended Posts

Now that everyone in the world is having to stay inside, how are people coping with not being able to date? I don't like to use dating websites and prefer to meet someone in person. Is it best to forget that the partner you seek or love exists until this is all over? Are people focusing on their hobbies right now?

I'm just staying busy with work unless I'm no longer able to. But for now anyone that's tucked away inside can work on themselves if need be. The time for dating/love will be back.

I was planning on trying Tinder again, but I don't really see the point of it right now. We all have to stay inside for weeks/months, so it would be a long wait before you can meet up with someone.

I also don't want to talk to a girl for weeks, then when there's finally that first date you find out there's no attraction in real life... and you basically wasted all that time.

But I guess you could talk to multiple people and try not to get attached to someone, so you have a bunch of dates lined up for when things are back to normal. I'm not sure yet...

Nope, you can never forget about LOVE.  You never know when IT might come your way.  Things are better than they might seem so never forget that LOVE is always waiting for the perfect TWO.  Yes, I am ESPECIALLY enjoying MY hobbies right now NOT INSIDE.

I think we are going to see a new baby boom comparable to the mini-booms caused by past electrical blackouts.

Have a date later tonight. Focusing on a lot things. Hundreds of people directly rely on me remaining on top of my game, so learning to be more creative and efficient. Have a crap load of things to do. Ugh. Dating is one way to get some relief, but we are all a little more cautious and careful.

Gr8, this is good news to read.  I hope your date goes great.  I am with you in that trying times require directors/prez/principals to be on the top of their game.  Tough times don't last but tough people do.  I am with you in that leaders just simply find a way.  Let us know how the date goes and I hope you have great time.

That's great that you have a date... where are you going? Most places around here are closed... a guy I've been talking to online mentioned getting a coffee and then either walking around or sitting in a car (probably not a safe idea), but I wasn't sure since there's not many places to go.

Ha ha! Yup, did exactly that! Walked around a park near the coffee driv-thru and then sat in the car. A little too chilly outside.

i try to have hope but doesnt seem likely alot people just bored on dating apps no real interest in actually meeting. cant really do anything with the pandemic going on then people have fears of catching the virus aswell

all you can do is keep chatting i guess its tough cause girls would have so many messages from different guys are they bothered to text everyone. alot people bored spending more time on phones and social media

Absolutely not. Our lives are not on hold, and this is a time to do what you feel.

I've read an article by a love coach saying this is just an opportunity to connect in different ways like talking on the phone or doing video date calls. If you live close, you can even meet for a walk outside even if you have to keep the 2m distance between you, but at least you can see if there's attraction in real life and not wait weeks or months.

And you never know, love doesn't choose the perfect time, so you might end up meeting the one at this time. Don't postpone love, for anything in this world.

 - this part I agree with. There is nothing wrong with making a new text / phone buddy. It's a great time for catfishing. Who knew that catfish would ever be in season?!

And is s great way to not waste time with emotionally unavailable people or guys just wanting to smash. Usually the ones who want to meet straight away and cannot sustain a consistent connection through a period of time. Now connection on other levels beyond physical is all we have.

I suspended my OkCupid account a few days ago. For me meeting up ASAP to see if there is chemistry is key. Spending weeks or months chatting over the dating site or Whatapps before meeting I have always found a waste of time as I find it does not result in the date being anymore successful then if we met quickly. As a matter of fact spending weeks before meeting seems to result in worse not better dates.

Therefore since I can’t meet up with anyone for the foreseeable future, I do not see any reason to use OLD at the moment.

That's a whole lot better than what I've been thinking.  That there will be a lot of domestic violence with everyone being shut in together the homicide rate will go up.

If I were single I would forget about dating until this pandemic is over.  It isn't that important right now.

If I was isolated I would get creative and have facetime parties to make things more social.

WOW....that is not a sobering revelation or OPINION.  Let's HOPE that doesn't manifest itself into reality. The topic of the thread is about putting LOVE ON HOLD.

To me,  you NEVER should put love on HOLD. Maybe, dating in the conventional sense or interacting as you normally would but NOT LOVE.

Things have escalated around here, so no more dating until this is over. But, continuing chatting, texting, messaging to get to know people until things settle down.

Even LS is dead right now 😭Honestly; I’m more disappointed by that than not being able to date

Gr8, it is going to get better.  Summer is coming, the weather is awesome so keep smiling and  pretty soon you will be back in the swing of things.

People are finding other things to do! I think that's a good thing. We are so lucky we have technology like social media to keep us connected.
