So my pup and I took a good hour this am to trap one which came indoors when I watered my balcony plants...strangely satisfying, cathartic way of handling a small irritation! 🐜 I have been going for the blitz attack the last few months but only because my dog had a flea problem and I couldn't get rid of it. So everyone had to suffer. but I'm one of those people who has a bug jar in my office and catches them and puts them out even if it's a wasp or a bee. I trapped a bunch of rats last year. Plus my dog killed a couple after I trained her to. But if my neighbors had a guy come and put stuff down so I think that's why there more under control now although I still hear things, but they're staying out of my house. I used a bug bomb during that flea stuff twice and I will say those are a lot better and easier to deal with and now than the old ones from 30 years ago which is the last time I used one. Today's flea and bug bombs are more or less dry vapor and you don't have to clean up and you only have to be gone and locked up for 2 hours. Yes it can be a little irritating but not as bad as the old ones. I was shocked at how many bugs came out of the rafters and died. there was so many rollie pollies which I don't even mind. In fact I just swept up a bunch in my office, so I guess they are particularly susceptible because I haven't run one of those bombs for several weeks now. But the spiders are already back. I should probably spray under my desk for those when I get back to work or I'll have itchy spots on my feet again.
preraph
So just the last few days I have been so tired of the aimlessness. And it's made me so lazy which I already lean that way anyway when it comes to housework. So now I've got plenty of time to clean house but can't get motivated to do so. So I was sitting here thinking about riding down several things that need to be done and throwing them in a hat and then the last thing I would put in the hat would be "buy shoes" so it would be like covid-19 roulette and having the one good thing in there would motivate me to draw one. But then I chickened out because I'm pretty sure the booties by what aren't going to fit anyway judging from the reviews on them, and then returning them would just be another chore. but I went and got the dust mop out with the intention of dusting the whole which is what is driving me the craziest right now, and ended up dust mopping the office which is the hardest dirtiest room because it has concrete floors and all those bugs. So at least I did something. I kept the dust mop out and put it in the hall. It's a very small chore, but the whole leads to the kitchen which is a much bigger chore. I am sure ready to get back to work and earn money.
amaysngrace
I was suppose to take the dogs to the vet today. They won’t just prescribe flea and tick medicine without seeing them for their annual visit and they need to be checked out and have their nails trimmed anyway but I had to cancel because my daughter was going to go with us but she’s stuck in quarantine. I could probably go it alone, I have before, but it’s just so much easier if another person comes with me.
sothereiwas
Got up, washed the dishes, shampooed carpets again, cleaned up the dining room, installed a couple motion activated LED lights on the outside of the shop. Probably shoot some baskets w/ the kid later, maybe a few other little projects. Maybe not.
preraph
I need to go to the vet too, but my dog is afraid of everyone but me and her heart rate actually goes down if my hand is on her. If she gets too much stress it will cause her to have seizures later. And during the pandemic they want to just come out to the car and take her but I need to talk to them about other things besides just shots so I'm just putting it off. But I only have one more heartworm pill. My dog has to get injected with Benadryl before her shots and wait around for it to act because she had a really bad reaction and almost died one time. And she has to go two times if all the shots are required. Edited May 23, 2020 by preraph
The Outlaw
I'm actually thinking about stepping out to do a little minor work just to alleviate my current state of boredom. It's yucky outside and I've only lost power four times today so why not?
Ruby Slippers
We went to the beach today and it was a perfect day for it, good change of scenery. Then we went to a Japanese restaurant for teriyaki shrimp, scallops, and steak with miso soup, salad, and a small bottle of lychee sake. Then to this awesome candy shop that's been there forever, where they make everything there, got a little bag of chocolate treats and a scoop of ice cream. My boyfriend is normally very vocal against any junk food, super fit health nut that he is, so I enjoyed splurging without having to justify it.

There is nothing quite like seeing the beach come alive. Sadly, it looks like things will start to get geared up in June, I am going to miss the scenery and the vibe of the water and all that goes with it...........
Happy Lemming
I went up on my roof yesterday and installed some "Bird Spikes" on top of my chimney cap. There is this one species of bird that attracts a mate by making the loudest noise possible. Apparently, this one bird figured out that he can peck at my chimney cap and create a LOUD noise (similar to a cymbal). Not only does it make a huge racket outside, but inside my house as well and he does it at about 5:15am, when the sun starts to come up. I ordered up some "bird spikes" and attached them to the chimney cap using pop rivets. It appears to have worked, my little "Romeo" bird was unable to peck out his love song on my chimney cap this morning.

I've actually seen that species peck on those concave antennas and make quite a racket on those, as well. I don't have one, so he can skip my house.

Happy Lemming
I took the motorcycle out yesterday for a ride. I didn't have anywhere (in particular) to go. I just rode and rode along some quiet back roads through the desert. It felt good and calming.

Happy Lemming
I trimmed up my Texas Sage bushes early this morning. I needed to get this done before it got too hot outside. Speaking of hot... The weather man is calling for 110 degrees (starting tomorrow) and continuing over the next 4 days. Going to be hot in the desert.
