You were really encouraging to me through that, thank you. 1
preraph
Oh I love Rawhide. I don't think it's in rotation on the CW right now though. I also liked Maverick but I don't think it's on either on the channel that I've got. The Virginian and The Big Valley are on there. I tend to like the ones that have some drama and some comedy and I guess that's why I like Gunsmoke the best. I like their characters like Chester and Festus.

schlumpy
I got my government check in the mail yesterday. $1200 hundred for each of us. No plans for the money.
preraph
I am back at the computer working today and I have a family of bluejays at the shallow water pan on the ground with babies they're feeding and all learning to bathe. So pretty.
preraph
My little dog has been extra depending on me during the pandemic which happened right after the other dog died. So now she started to get whiny for the first time when I leave. And to be fair she's not getting much stimulation because we are just laying around or I'm working. She gets maybe a block down and back of a walk maybe once a week. But I walk so slow it doesn't do her much good. so I was happy last week when she decided to go outside during a break in the rainy weather and she went hunting, and I was real glad she was out there doing a dog thing, but at the same time I've watched these three baby squirrels who are teenagers now and got attached to them plus two of them are in love and mating. so I made her come in because I didn't want her to kill them and they are so used to having the backyard to themselves because of all this rain and my dog hates rain, that I knew they would be too brazen. But today, literally all afternoon I've had these family of blue jays just staying at the water and teaching the kids to drink and bathe, and I guess they've got the bluff in on the squirrels because the squirrels were nowhere to be seen. You know Blue Jays can be quite aggressive when they have nests. So anyway my Chickapea got to stay outside and hunt till her heart's content today and it wasn't bothering the Blue Jays either. So that was kind of a load off my mind.

They all seem to wait on the roofs of various houses in the neighborhood and as soon as I drop the seed on the eating platform, they fly down and get breakfast. Then they drink and play in the water bowl. Also there has been a single small baby bunny in the backyard. He's been hanging around my large prickly pear cactus. I haven't seen a mother rabbit, just this single lone baby bunny. Initially, I thought maybe he was passing through but I've seen him the past couple of mornings, when I go out to feed the birds. I'm not sure what foliage he is eating (if any), but he can get water from the bird bowl, so I guess we'll see how he makes out.

preraph
I got tested this morning. Won't know for a few days. I doubt it tells me anything, but I have been exposed a lot lately, plus everything with my respiratory has been worse for two months or more now. I still have to go back to the dentist to finish my crown and he's on vacation. No telling what he'll come back with. Ugh.

preraph
Thanks, Outlaw. I waiver between being confident I have a strong immune system and hardly ever catch stuff and looking how many pills I'm on and how old I am! We'll see. My main thing is I need to outlive my pup.
Miss Spider
I am doing really well but I am spending WAY, WAY wayyyyyyyy too much time at loveshack — neglecting almost all my other responsibilities. I think I am addicted. It’s just such a great community. But I need to get things done, so I must impose a break on myself. Hopefully not very long.. Just until I can get IRL things done/out of the way. 🤗 3
preraph
Me too, Cookies. I wasted all day yesterday and I have got to have some discipline and just work today. I hope someone else will do battle for me.

I said I would not have home internet these days if it lead to being unproductive and I am getting into too many comfort habits here already. Interesting how humans need habits isn't it, and we should be careful of them! “We become what we repeatedly do.” -Sean Covey ( Highly Successful Teen writer ) who also wrote this there “I like how Mother Teresa put it: "Let no one ever come to you without leaving better and happier. Be the living expression of God's kindness: kindness in your face, in your eyes, in your smile." If you approach life this way, always looking for ways to build instead of to tear down, you'll be amazed at how much happiness you can give to others and find for yourself." Okay, work... Ruby Slippers
We had a very nice weekend - a little day trip hiking in a national forest on Saturday, with lunch at a cute country restaurant; sushi and then dessert at a mellow cafe yesterday. My boyfriend was in a really good mood this morning, all big grins, hugs, and kisses. We took a little lunchtime "cuddle" break 😏
preraph
I'm trying to work today, but getting bombarded with Antifa propaganda, so I just blocked a few. I just can't waste my time with people who ask questions with no basis in fact.
The Outlaw
Since it's been talked about already, I'm strongly considering taking a hiatus from LS for a bit. Just not three years like I did the last time. At least for a month if I'm actually able to pull myself away from it. I've just been back over a year and I've been going strong but my activity has just slowed down because I'm simply burned out here and just feel like I've got nothing left to give for now.
carhill
Good luck with the hiatus. I loaded a couple dozen 20' 2x8's onto the truck lumber rack as part of the next haul and, whoa, forgot how heavy those were. Last time I touched them was in spring 1990, so 30 years ago. Time flies. Definitely don't have energy of a man half my age anymore. Now it's work, rest, work, rest, drink beer 👍 Edited to add, well there goes the power and it took a good 20 seconds for the local cell tower generator to come on...wheee! Ellener
I'm awake very early, bought a book on crocheting blankets. There's something very 'hygge' as the Danish would say about making my own comforter.

The dog and cats bent me to their will. Got the trash out and opened the windows. Did the dishes while I waited for my pot of Italian roast coffee to drip into existence. Good to see you are keeping busy.
Ellener
Sunrise here is in about 10 minutes @schlumpy I have a whole balcony of plants started, that's where I go when it gets light, to see what needs attention and watch the sun come up. My favourite time of day is the dusk though, at the end of a day well spent! That reminds me of a poem I learned in French when I was younger: Belles journées, souris du temps, Vous rongez peu à peu ma vie. Dieu ! Je vais avoir vingt-huit ans, Et mal vécus, à mon envie. 'Beautiful days, time's mice, you nibble bit by bit my life away; God, almost 28 this Spring, and mis-spent years too, I should say!'

I know he has found the water bowl for the quails, as I saw him sitting in it the other day. Maybe he was just trying to cool down. I imagine he is eating some of the foliage around the yard for his food source. All in all, he appears to be hanging in there. Best of luck little bunny, hope you make it.
