I like the NTK O-2 sensors, not too expensive and I've had good luck with them. 1
Katkats7777
Are there people actually going on vacations like trips to the beach? I go on instagram and see these profiles where people are posting pics of themselves in bikinis in Florida and Arizona just flaunting it, or having birthday parties in large groups. Um, okay are they just there to brag about themselves? Am I just not living my life now or something? For me I'm playing it safe until at least late next year..

We went to the beach 2x this year. The 1st time was the week after Labor Day, 1st week in September. We drove, rented an AirBnB, then went to a relatively empty beach where the closest people were 20 yards away. Other friends did something similar in Hilton Head around the same time. We drove to Florida for Thanksgiving to go to our other house. We stayed 1 night each way in a hotel with contactless check in. Staying alone in our house in the north vs staying alone in our house in Florida didn't make much exposure difference. I went to the beach two days because I knew a spot where there wouldn't be many people & there weren't. I think the closest people to me were 100 yards away. I didn't think that presented much danger. We're planning to go back in February. We do have friends who flew to Aruba in early Nov. I have another friend who is going to Mexico in January. It depends on your risk tolerance. Edited December 21, 2020 by d0nnivain

Most of them do if for free and give you a printout of the possible issues. It's a sensor I've already had repaired once, nothing urgent!

Both California and New York require catalytic converters with more precious metals in them, thus they are much more expensive. Last year I purchased one for my old truck and it was only $150.00 shipped to my door.

I just checked and that Canadian company (I used) does not make a California (CARB certified) catalytic converter. Your friend may want to check on ebay for a California (CARB certified) one... make sure it is direct bolt on and comes with gaskets and hardware. Best of luck.
Angelle
I am feeling depressed. I've also had shooting pains in my stomach for the last few days, and I'm hoping it's somehow trapped gas (even though it's been a few days, and it still hurts, just not as much). I thought it might be food poisoning, but I've felt okay otherwise - just the pain can zap your energy. It's similar to cramps, but not the same, it isn't a period. Shooting pain, that gets stronger at times, not constant, unrelenting agony. I have been trying to find some christmas spirit, but it isn't happening.

Maybe check with a nurse online/phone if you need to see a doctor. Hope you are getting better.

Ellener
Hope you feel better @Angelle @Ruby Slippers I'm feeling way better yesterday, my son started a new job this week, and my customers are starting to contact me to say we should be back in business in a few weeks when the vaccinations are complete for the senior population, and Congress passed some extra financial support measures for until then. I once read on Simple Dollar, Trent Hamm, that no one is ever happy to spend their emergency fund, but I was very glad to have one for 2020 and hopefully can rebuild it in 2021/22 It's been a rocky year, much sadness and worry, but positive things are on the horizon. 🌅

That's awesome! I remembered you mentioned he recently graduated, and was looking for work during the pandemic, which made it tough. The vaccine rollout looks promising. I hope you will be able to go back to work soon. Best of luck!
Ruby Slippers
I got another gift card from work, this time from my direct supervisor with a really nice note acknowledging my work this year. It's been a tough year, but I remain very thankful to be at such a great place, doing meaningful humanitarian work with awesome people.
Ellener
Looking over my next year insurance, looks like I have some vision coverage, so I'll probably be getting spectacles; I've used readers for some time but not needed a prescription but I think I might this next eye exam. I like those little half glasses I can peer over, wonder if I can get those?! Man! health insurance is complicated, but this is one of those everything must go through a pcp/gp dr or be pre-authorised so there's no confusion there. Wonder if the drs charge to send the referral? Nothing would surprise me!

Interstellar
Been doing intermittent fasting for almost three weeks now. I like it way better than counting calories (blegh). Also trying to get shredded for next summer.
Millennial
I'm in the top 15% of chessplayers worldwide within just one year lol. That's what I've been doing. Something that I've always wanted to be good at, so why not. When life gives you lemons, make lemonade. Goal now for that is to be an English national master, but will probably take 10+ years.
Happy Lemming
Yesterday, I installed a new pump/motor assembly into my dishwasher. The new pump/motor wasn't supposed to arrive until January 6th, but was delivered late Monday evening. I was pleasantly surprised. I'm so happy to have my dishwasher back up and running. YEAH!! Today, I'm doing some preliminary work on my 2020 taxes (Form 1040, etc.). I always try to file by mid-February, so today is a number crunching day. Doing taxes is fun, NOT!!
Ellener
I'm doing a course on Intellectual Developmental Disabilities alternating with getting tax papers together so I can file early 2021. I've spent more time and money than any year since I've been in business updating my certifications and skills! Hopefully Covid will recede over 2021 and I can get back to 'real working'. My boss took 3 vacations with plane travel in 2020. He has a girlfriend now and I think it took him a while to find her, so I'm sure he wants to roll out the red carpet for her. He even encouraged me to take a trip, when I admitted I was dealing with pandemic fatigue. I told him I've been careful mainly for my parents' sake and still felt unsure. I didn't take any trips during the pandemic, but I'm considering it for 2021. Unpopular opinion that nobody wants to hear, but I have a feeling "the old world" is gone. I don't see myself sitting at home forever. Edited January 1, 2021 by Ruby Slippers

Ellener
Today is cold here, I am experimenting with using containers of hot water in my little greenhouse to increase humidity/temperature. Wondering if it's worth getting or inventing a greenhouse heater- we have mostly tropical weather here, but winters are getting colder. Think I'll start by insulating the concrete floor. January is typically our coldest month here. I picked up 3 sprouting paperwhite narcissus bulbs, watching them slowly sprout. It isn't growing all that much, but it doesn't look sickly either. It is just green and staying about the same size. Unless it gets a growth spurt, I'll wait & trim/shape it in the spring.
