Author Inflikted
I'm still mulling over how likely it is that I may end up getting the virus after my recent hospital visit. My state is around the 6k mark for confirmed cases. The first ER I went to and spent the first 3-4 hours at ended up transferring me to a different hospital because the one I initially went to is setting up to primarily treat corona patients. As far as I remember, most of the staff that worked with me there had masks and gloves. Hospital #2 is where I spent all of Thursday and most of Friday, and also got surgery. A lot of the nurses and staff that were in very close proximity to me (taking vitals, changing IVs, etc.) didn't have masks or gloves. I dunno. I'm doing my best to try to be careful for the next couple weeks now that I'm back home, but I feel like I'm going to keep stressing myself out over it for the entire time. I just wish I could find some peace of mind, as I don't know what the odds are I might've contacted it from someone during that whole thing. Inflikted... sweetie .. worrying about whether or not you got the virus won’t do one single thing to keep you from getting the virus. It won’t change the outcome either way. It’s like me worrying about whether or not it’s going to rain today. It’s gonna do what’s it gonna do. If I were you, I’d be so damned happy that I wasn’t in pain anymore and made it through the surgery, I’d be social distance dancing in the streets and spitting in the virus’ face. Chances are you didn’t get anything besides ... better! Sometimes you just have to throw your hands in the air man, and say FK it! 🙆♀️

Sometimes you just have to throw your hands in the air man, and say FK it! 🙆♀️ Yeah, I just don't know that I'll be able to calm down until the "two week" period is up. On top of that, it's difficult for me to tell whether I'm getting minor side effects and "after effects" from both my surgery and the antibiotic and pain pills they have me on right now, or possible corona symptoms. Like, for one, my chest and breathing feels just the slightest bit odd, but I don't know if that's the "shortness of breath" associated with corona, or if that's just because of the surgery and general soreness from being bed-ridden for so many days. This morning, my nose has been feeling... dry? It feels a teeny tiny bit hard to breath through my nose, and when I try to blow it, not much comes out, and I've been seeing a little bit of blood in the mucus; not sure if that's just from my antibiotic, or something more noteworthy. Either way, I'm glad I'm out of the hospital, though I'm not exactly "recovered" yet. I still have some residual pain in my side, and more than that, my stomach is very upset like 24/7, though I assume that has more to do with the diarrhea I'm getting from the antibiotic. At the moment, I'm just kinda worried about my current chest/ breathing and nose issues, though hopefully, that's all just residuals from the surgery and meds. Hopefully.
