How's your weight holding up with lockdown?

I’ve lost about 5kg, some of that through stress worrying about my son and daughter in law getting home from Morocco, lost my appetite completely for a while. 

Also no takeaways/fast food. 

I saw a friend today who had a baby the night before lockdown, I hadn’t seen her for 6 months and was shocked by how much weight she’s lost, she tells me she has lost 40kg!!! It’s very noticeable. I’m guessing she lost some of that prior to lockdown, she looks very healthy now.

My husband looks like he’s found the weight I lost and some of my friends too! I’m not going to ask him to jump on the scales! I’ve noticed his intake is way more than usual and way more than mine. 

Have your eating habits changed for better or worse? 

Are you still getting exercise in? I’m struggling with this, as an essential worker I’m still working and spending spare time standing around helping others out with distant child minding.

Most years, weather permitting, By mid April I have my bicycle on the trail starting my training arc but that might not happen until in May due to the lockdown. I think I've put on a few pounds, although I'm not eating more then I normally do. My fitness level is not what I'm used to but I can improve it.

mrs. rubble i've actually lost 5 lbs in the last two months.  i'm feeling good

I’m eating more but I don’t think I’m gaining weight.  I’m way too busy to I think.  Yesterday a tree fell through my roof so that was a big s***show and even on Easter I was so busy baking and cooking that I probably burned my food.  I’ve been eating more healthy to ward this thing off but I usually eat pretty healthy to begin with.  I’m always doing something, cooking, cleaning, laundry, yard work, gardening. dancing around my house, playing in the yard with my dogs, even when I’m on the phone with friends I’m pacing around my house.  

Of course I could be gaining weight and am just not aware of it...leggings and sweatpants and occasionally scrubs aren’t real great at letting me know.

when i wake up first thing i do is go pee, second thing i do is weigh myself and write the results in my diary.  i've been doing that for around 5 years and it really works well

I don’t weigh myself too much alphamale, I use to have an eating disorder so a number on a scale isn’t that big of a focus for me anymore. 

Back in the day that number had all the power over me.  I’m over it.

I am with you Alpha.  Lots of working out, cardio and frankly not much eating.  I am probably closer to 8 pounds which is probably not great.

I would assume I am loosing weight. This isolation is detrimental to my emotional health resulting in my depression levels increasing. First thing that goes is my appetite. If it wasn't for beer I would probably have starved by now.

I won’t know until they rip off the old roof to see.  I have a guy coming today to put some rubber patch on it to waterproof it for now and says he can have it done by the end of the week. 

It only came through my sons room a little  because it cracked about 25 feet up, if it uprooted it would’ve been way worse.  It would’ve damaged my whole roof and taken out the cars.  I got lucky.

does homeowners cover that?

Yes but I’m not putting in a claim because I don’t want my premiums to go up for such a small loss.  

Insurance claims are just a loan that you pay back every month once they jack up your rates.

I learned that the hard way.

We are all gaining weight in my household. 

We don't have bad eating habits, there is no junk food here, we just eat more. I cook & bake more, we eat more. When the isolation is over I will not walk out of my house, I will roll out of it.

@mrs rubble I don't have a bathroom scale to check my weight, but I don't feel or look any bigger, in fact a pair of trousers I bought a few weeks ago are already pretty loose.

I eat very simple stuff mostly, oats, bananas, cheese, yoghurt and cottage cheese, greens, meat once or twice a month.

My weight dropped off when I hadn't means to cook any more and took up walking daily again. The flood-recovery diet...who knew!

This year I've been focused on slimming down and toning up a bit. I'm in pretty good shape but can always do better. I've lost a few pounds this year, with the gradual weight loss continuing in quarantine.

I am maintaining, but I love to cook and am trying to reign it in a bit. Now isn't the time to be wasteful. 

My boyfriend tells me that he knows when I am stressed because I cook! Lol

I love feeding people and watching them enjoy what I prepare.

I can't really tell...I think I'm about the same.  But I'm pregnant, so my desire for food goes crazy at times, and other times the nausea goes crazy.  I guess it balances out.

Not so good in my case. Maybe a couple of pounds. Gym is closed and I normally go once/week.

I'm hoping it won't get worse.

Where do you work out when gym is closed?

I'd been thinking of joining a gym a few weeks ago but maybe my walking and weights and yoga is enough?

Jogging, limited workout with weights I keep at home, internet videos with exercise regimens.

They're all OK, but none of them are as good as 1.5 hrs in a fully equipped gym IMO.

Have lost about 4-5 lbs. Eating about the same, but I have more time to exercise now. Plus I’m less stressed and sleeping better. I’m actually really dreading having to go back to work.

I've personally lost a lot of weight and muscle mass... currently sitting at around 75kg when my normal maintenance was 85kg+
