Author mrs rubble Posted April 15, 2020 Author Share Posted April 15, 2020 I would usually be swimming 3-4 times a week, but no access to the pool sadly. I usually walk a lot too, but haven’t had the time to do that lately. We had a really busy day at work today, there’s a load of people complaining that not enough testing is being done here, I can assure that in my community that is definitely not the case. We dealt with our largest number of tests here so far, all connected to one outbreak. Fingers and toes crossed they all come back negative. I’m just hoping to get back to some semblance of normality some time soon! My husband probably ate 3 times more than I did tonight, followed by a huge bowl of ice cream. I’m going to have ice cream for breakfast tomorrow, I have some stashed in the freezer in the lunchroom at work. Give me some energy for the day. 1 Link to post Share on other sites
Libby1 Posted April 15, 2020 Share Posted April 15, 2020 My weight's gone down by about 8 pounds, and clothes are getting looser even though I'm eating a fair bit of junk. I'm pretty busy round the house and garden, and I was surprised to see the other day that I'd done 17,000 steps even though I'm not getting out for the sort of walks I usually take. I think it's mainly down to not meeting up with friends for meals. It just shows how calorific the food some bars/restaurants serve up is, if I can eat extra junk food on top of my 3 meals a day and still lose weight. Like others, though, I suspect some of the weight loss is down to anxiety about what's happening. 1 Link to post Share on other sites
Fletch Lives Posted April 15, 2020 Share Posted April 15, 2020 My weight has not changed because my intake has not changed. The big secret to weight loss is, eat smaller portions. You can even skip a meal. I've been getting a good workout with my arms because I've been doing home improvements. Even if that stops, I can install a pull-up bar. But I can't go to the gym and get on the leg machines and work my legs - so I'm going to have to take up dancing! Or something. Actually, there was a cheap exercise thing for the legs, I think it was a thigh master? That might help a little for at least a couple muscles if it has enough resistance. 2 Link to post Share on other sites

Fletch, that's funny you mentioned a pull-up bar. I have one in my home gym along with dip bars and a friend came to workout and had NO IDEA what they were. I had an old school trainer tell me that if you can do pull-up's and dips (a lot of them) you were STOKED. He's RIGHT. 1 Link to post Share on other sites
SolG Posted April 16, 2020 Share Posted April 16, 2020 I don't weigh myself, but I can tell I'm getting smaller as my clothes are getting loose. My eating habits haven't changed, but my workout and lifestyle regime has. I still have to physically go to work, and I'm walking instead of driving at the moment. It's easier than constantly cleaning the inside of my car. With gyms now closed I'm limited to the lighter weights I have at home for my strength workouts. Increased steps + no heavy lifting = me losing size and weight. And I can also see and feel that I'm losing the kind of tone I like to maintain. Even with all the TexMex I eat out, I still probably eat less on my normal schedule of doing lunch out. Sitting around too much, it's going to be more snacking.
