I miss having a crush on someone

Recommended Posts

I don't know how you define "crush", I guess, but if we're strictly talking about being attracted to someone or having an interest in them romantically, yeah, I've really been missing that feeling. Truth be told, I've only "had feelings" for two girls in my entire life, and neither were interested in dating me. The last girl was over eight years ago, at this point. It definitely bothers me a lot that I just don't feel that way about anyone. Even though the times I did feel something for someone didn't go very well at all, it felt... nice just to have that desire.

Don't miss it. If it is not reciprocated, what is the point.

As a guy this is how l'd be , l'm not into bs or wasting my time on fantasy in this way, so is all this crush stuff for the real deals or just for entertainment along the way.

I've had crushes since I was seven years old. I had this awful crush on a boy and a boy who was a friend got us to talk to each other the last day of school. Unfortunately the crush was moving away and (unbeknownst to me) so was I. Unlike my girlfriends, I had no crushes as a pre-teen; no tv posters, no magazine crushes, nothing. I had crushes on real boys in school, but they never really worked out until I met my first ex-husband in ninth grade. Nothing hit me as hard as that but there were a few minor crushes during separation and divorce. Had a couple of crushes during the thirty years of my second marriage and two celebrity crushes, but that was it.

I have had several relationships and one marriage since that divorce, but no real crushes. Don't have any now either, which feels sort of strange. I guess I started them early and ended early.

Been a number of years since I've had one. But there's someone now that more than makes my heart skip a beat. Quite often. But I'm just not sure if she has caught on to that or not since I'm evasive with everything.

@The Outlaw That's romantic!

Yup. Not too many gals have been able to pull that off but this one has.

😍

Have you given her hints of your interest?

A few here and there, yeah. Not entirely sure if it's mutual though.

I used to have crushes, usually on friends/co-workers, but I haven't had one in awhile. But, I think it's a good thing. I realized when I did have crushes, I closed the door for other, real relationships to happen, hoping the relationship would happen with the "crush". So while I miss it, I'm also glad.

Have not felt anything for anyone for a good 5-6 years now.

Getting sick of it and really want to meet someone that I have great chemistry with.

I seeee.  Ahh yeah you're lucky.  I love celebrity crushes too, but I don't seem to have those as often as I'd like.  I wish I could have one every week.  I get the ones where I idealize a real person them and start to see them as my partner, and sometimes I attempt to cross over into that with them and that's when all the problems start.  I need to just keep them as a crush and remain at a distance in order for the good feeling to last!

Anyway, yea, I wish I had one right now.

Well for me, it is fun to imagine some scenarios with the crush. But its better to stay far and not involve too much, no matter what type of crush they are
It keeps their image pristine and there's nothing but sunshine.

The sweet delusion of crush crushing on you.

Buy heyyyyyy. Mine totally knows now. She wikes me too. Even if it is a crush it still feels good. Yeah, babyyyyy. 🙂 But speak up if you have one. The feeling could be mutual and it's more important now than ever to just be upfront with everything.

I always have to have a crush or my life doesn’t feel complete lol. I really like to lie in my bed and have them on my mind as I’m going to sleep. The excitement of all of the possibilities. Though the crush usually stays in my imagination only, I’ve sometimes escalated it to real life sex with them. Sometimes having a dream about someone is enough to make me see them in a whole new light and want them.

It can be any little thing that draws me to them too. Usually the more immoral the situation the better lol. I’ve had crushes on bosses and coworkers and guys that I’ve only made eye contact with once and can’t wait to do it again. I’ve had crushes on girls with dreads, tattoos and tongue rings. I’ve had crushes on friends that have no idea that I’ve gotten off on them several times already. I’ve had crushes on posters on this board. (Especially this one guy) It can develop from a song they post or a funny comment or just something sexy that they say. An off the cuff, interesting comment can cause me to see them in a whole new light and wanta know everything about them. Sometimes I even tell them about my crush on them. 😉

Having a crush to me is like breathing air. It keeps me on my toes. That is ...until they do something unattractive or make a dick move and kill the feeling for me. Or sometimes they make me like them too much and then I have to cut them loose because I don’t do feelings too well. I guess that’s where the “crush” part of it comes in.

I don’t get celebrity crushes though. Not sure why. Probably because I have to feel like I at least have a chance. 😁

😁😁

This post brought back so many memories!! When I became single after my last RL broke down, I became like a desert - no crushes, no self-care, no sexual thoughts, nothing at all. Totally not like me. The thing that brought me to life, so to speak, was this delicious crush I had on this guy on my commute. I still remember him like it was yesterday (he actually looks like my SO, weirdly enough). The sexiest man ever - silver fox, beautiful green eyes, immaculate suits, white shirt just a little unbuttoned at the top... We took the same train to work every morning for months. I used to blush like a teenager every time I brushed past him (accidentally on purpose), I remember once he gave me this knowing smile, he had sparkly fun-time guy eyes, I melted on the spot. He'll never know what he did for me, slowly re-awakening my sensual senses. This guy saved my romantic life, no word of a lie!

I had a ton of crushes on patients too; totally unprofessional, but boy some of them are hot. The only sexual thoughts are for my SO nowadays, he's the only guy who can get me off just by looking at me, but for sure I still get a little naughty spark for a random guy now and then; it's mostly in their light-hearted banter, you can easily see when a guy isn't taking himself too seriously.

There are a few guy crushes I still have, even celebs - my SO is  really perplexed by this (I tell him everything), but ultimately he knows I only have eyes for him when it comes to the crunch so he lets me crush away.

I dont miss having a crush on someone, but I miss mature, stable love. When rainbows and unicorns are over, but you look at that person and think "uuugh I love that cute poop head"

We go on a date and its like "ah hmm I see" Just another person....no connection/spark/crush was seen that day...So I'm just crushing in my fantasies. But it's like I've almost forgotten what it's like so it's getting more difficult!!!!!

Having a crush on someone is invigorating.

I've had crushes on celebs as well as guys I knew in person. I had minor crushes on fwbs.

While I was truly in love with my exW right up to the point where she went crazy... and I never really looked at other women... I can say, without a doubt... Finally being able connect with someone new, and have a "crush" is a very good feeling.  The funny thing is... it's taken me back to being a teen mentally. I enjoy waking up, and seeing a "Good morning" txt from her... and mid day... if my phone chimes... I secretly hope it's a message from her.

I had a crush on Thelma from the TV show "Good Times"...Damn, what a body on her!.....🤣

That was around the first time I realized that a girl with those kind of assets looks even better than a mini bike or skateboard....🙃😂

I am happy for you Blind.  Having that connection with someone you truly enjoy is pretty amazing.

Thanks.

I know you have followed some of my stuff.  But even a year, after the wife said she was leaving... I found myself not even being able to give someone a hug. (It was depressing) But the girl I finally connected with was someone I was actively avoiding making any connection with. She was the girl I would call when I didn't want to be at home alone... but didn't want the stress of a "Date."  I could just be myself.  I really wanted to keep her as a friend... but the feelings just mutually grew.  I guess that's what happens when you enjoy someone's company.

The funny thing is... we have been hanging out for almost 3 months now.  We see eye to eye on everything.  Not so much as even a difference of opinion.

Isn't it suppose to be like that, Blind?  Easy, breezy, seeing eye to eye and having FUN.  I have said it before but once more....I am happy for you and wish you nothing but the best.
