Girlfriend mother relationship

My girlfriend has been supporting her mom in the last 20 years or so financially and emotionally, mom  is now in her early 70s. She has not communicated with anybody during this time except her two daughters. She just does not talk to others, kind of below her. Now she has developed mental problems. My girlfriend is the most caring, wonderful person I have known. Her whole life has revolved around maintaining a great life style for the mother. My GF is unemployed due to the coronavirus situation and extremely stressed as she cannot provide for the mother and I don't see any income coming anytime soon. I offered financial support several times and my GF refused. I really feel for her,  offer all my love, support, anything I can do. But, any idea I have about helping in the situation she says I don't understand her. I really don't know what to say anymore. Any ideas would be very much appreciated. Thank you for reading.

Are you both just unemployed because of the coronavirus? Will you be employed once this is done? Can you get unemployment? Or can you get temporary jobs for the time being, Like being a delivery driver or something?Like being a delivery driver or something?

You can either get unemployment pay or failing that, welfare and food stamps as I see you are in the US.  Her mom can be considered a dependent on tax forms if she's living there.   Welfare depends on you having minor children, I think, but you might want to consult Social Services and find out more.
