Snowing. How not to go crazy?

yes, that's right. roofs and lawns are covered in snow. Turning into rain soon...

Alone. Caged inside of a house. If you have a loving partner and/or children, I suppose it will make it easier.

I grew up in a subtropical place, now this...now I am really wondering if it was a good idea to immigrate here.

If you were me, how do you stay mentally sane?

I'm sorry Springsummer that it has you down.  I love snow and we didn't get any this year so I envy you.

Sounds AWESOME!  I'm envious too.

Wrap yourself around your favorite blanky, make some hot chocolate, rent some good Netfix and settle in.

That's what I'd be doing.  :D

Staying mentally sane, I love being all cozy when it's cold outside, snuggled up me and my dog 🐕

Movie time!

Great to hear people who love snow. I love snow when I can ski. but not when the skiing season is gone and winter is too long. I enjoyed the first snow. but enough is enough though.

Today is funny.. snowed in the morning, rained in the afternoon and snowed again in the evening.

No gym with this covid thing...at least if it is sunny I can talk a walk outside. but when it rains and snows...fortunately I don't have claustrophobia. ..or actually I do:(

Okay, so...turn on a really bright light. Download a beach sounds app (maybe like a nature sounds app) or find something on Youtube. See if you can find something that includes sounds of people playing in the distance so you don't feel so isolated. Mix up some drinks and play your favorite summer music. Turn the heat way up in your house (just for an hour or two). Lay a towel down on the floor, put on shades, relax and have a beach day!

last house I lived in was dark, felt like a mausoleum...I bought daylight light bulbs.

Like the fantasy beach day idea.

That sounds really s***ty I feel you.

Maybe try to open the windows for a minute or two so you can get some fresh air! When its cold outside the air tends to get really bad inside which tends to make you feel worse.

If you have a really bright lamp, use it....

Do an online workout. Learn some dance steps. Cook something!

I don't know which gender you are, but take a scented bad and do a facemask. Moisturize! Heaters dry your skin out.

Normally, Canadian retirees will live in the south of the USA in the winters and they are called snow birds, and other people will go south to have a vacation to soak up the sun, now they and we are all staying home to endure the long winter.

Don't you have anything to do at home besides Netflix? Try taking up a different hobby?

I don't mean to minimize your pain, but I was wondering about that since you mentioned Netflix being your only outlet.

It was snowing earlier this week, but it is beautiful today!

I’m just home from a walk, putting my running shoes on and going for a walk while listening to music always makes me feel better...

Actually quite busy sometimes because I still have to work from home.

I don't think what you're talking about is due to having nothing to do...you're probably just upset because you feel you have nothing to cheer you up. When Corona gets to me I tend to look at the window and be like "well, at least the sun is shining". When there's no sun, it's upsetting.

What are the things you usually do to cheer yourself up? Is there anything you can do from your home?

My highlight this week is deciding to get a pet. I have been working from home, and during the evenings, I've been preparing to give him a nice new home, and finding out everything I can about the species! (I have been careful to pick something I know I can commit to even after corona though)

I have also been learning to make (the healthy version of) my favorite foods. Have been growing the vegetables from seed, in a corner of my kitchen, and making bread and pasta from scratch. I also make things from my home country that they don't sell here. Feels incredibly decadent, but I don't gain weight because it takes such a long time to cook ahah

Those are just examples, you probably like other things than I do, it's just about finding something to light your day up!

Things are hard right now, but it's not going to be forever 😃
