Face masks and fashion

I saw a young man in a 'designer mask' a few days ago ( I know his mum probably made it, but it did look pretty cool ) and I can see lots of people continuing to wear face masks in public after the pandemic, people who are still anxious or who have respiratory issues or are higher risk. Or for dusty environments like these:

My Chemical Romance are selling a stockpile of masks they designed before the pandemic for a show in the desert.

The proceeds will go to a fund for those in live music industry who have lost their jobs because of Covid-19.

"We had these masks made to keep you dust-free in the desert, a show that never happened, never will," the band said in a statement.

I was in the park earlier contemplating the return to work and socialising and stuff, and had an image of going on dates swathed in a headscarf or mask...then writing to LS stuff like 'when should I start worrying that I haven't seen he/she without a mask...?'

It really is so odd to see people walking around wearing masks.  I get that it's necessary but I have not gone to that extreme thus far.

My attire routinely includes a scarf just in case now.  It is coordinated to my outfit but is not a mask per se.  My mother in law made DH & I masks.  My niece & my MIL are both sewing me masks made with print fabric with my college alma mater logo.  I see "designer" masks with a variety of logos on sale everywhere online.   Like Asia, I think masks will become a thing long into the future.

We have to have face coverings in situations where social distancing is difficult like stores for one month from monday. 

I've been using a scarf the whole time anyway, I have @ 6 and wash them after each use.

Best to social distance or stay home where possible, especially in the early stages of the pandemic when there's more pressure on the emergency services and facilities. We started re-opening Texas but the social distancing is here to stay for now.

But remember everything is bigger in Texas....so go Big or Go Home.  The masks....that would be a big no for me dog.

I breathe a sigh of relief everytime I see children with masks on because I am high risk.  Kids are no good whatever about containing their germs and I touch  everything.

The police aren't impressed overall apparently, they weren't consulted. I think the masks serve as a visual reminder, and to catch anything coughed or sneezed by the wearer, but I would hope anyone coughing or sneezing would know by now to be responsibly at home, and everyone is supposed to be social distancing at least 6 feet in public places anyway and handwashing/sanitising. There's hand sanitiser on the way in to all stores now and a sign saying if you are sick go home. Many service counters have plastic shields to protect workers who are largely wearing gloves and masks.

You don't have to wear masks with your own kin or in homes or outdoors away from people, and they can be any kind of covering: The order requires individuals over the age of 10 to wear a face covering, which can be a homemade mask, scarf, bandana, or handkerchief. 

It specifies that medical equipment is not necessary also that face coverings should not be used on children two and under.
