westernxer
I'm going to play it safe and assume that the preacher didn't mean for it to sound as bad as it did. He's probably just acknowledging that he does indeed have a libido, like every other male in his congregation. Being a preacher doesn't exclude him from temptation; it just reduces his margin of error among those who look up to him. Or else he really is a sex addict and needs help, but you'd have to raid his closet (and maybe his refrigerator) to find out for sure.
Moose
but she doesn't need his permission to let him know she's going to tell her husband. Her obligation to her husband should come first.I guess you just don't understand, or you are letting your personal shyt w/me, (a religious person), get in the way here. I'm not saying she needs the pastor's permission to tell her husband! I'm saying she should ask it anyways to find out what his intentions where..... DO YOU UNDERSTAND NOW!!! Author JadeStar
OMG someone just slap me and get it over with! You know , not only have I gotten some great opinons from you all, but I have gotten them from other friends as well, and guess what? Everyone says the same thing!! Maybe I'm in denial, I don't know. Yes I understand what he said was not right or out of the way, or whatever you want to call it. Maybe he wasn't thinking, hell I don't know. Listen to me, sounds like I'm justfying it doesn't it? Really I'm not. I'm just very disappointed. Hes a great person and been very helpful over the years. I can't see tearing down his world or his families because of this comment. He didn't come on to me as in touching me or saying something along the lines of "will you help me out?" I think he feels very comfortable with me as I do him, not in a sexual way etc, but I guess because I have talked with him so long. Maybe he does have an actaul addiction. Maybe what he said was a cry for help, because he trusts me. No I don't mean a cry for help as in, "Hey I'm addcited to sex, wanna help me out." Maybe its his way of saying that he does have a problem, and is afraid that if others find out he would be gone. I don't know then again guess he would have gone to the deacon or pastor parish committee, I don't know. As far as talking with my husband, some of you know that I have made posts on here in reguards to my husband being overly paranoid/insecure. whcih I remember ladyjane telling me in one of my posts that sounded like my husband has what you call delusional jealousy, I looked it up fits him to a T! He has always been like that, so if I were to go to my husband with this, that would send him over the edge! I don't need that kind of drama, I got enough. Sounds like its a crappy sitaution anyway I look at it. Dayummmm why did he have to say that comment to me?! Maybe one of my close friends was right, maybe he does want just "do me". omg Jade
933KJL
Jade-- Put it to bed (figuratively of course). Call the preacher and just tell him that his comment is tearing youu up. Tell him that you feel it is inappropriate. Ask if he minds if you share with hubby (you don't need to but ask and see the reaction), and let him know that most people would be offended, but because of the bond you have, you wanted to go to him first. Mz. Pixie
Jade- I think it's just more along the lines of you don't want to think it about him. I know, I've been there. People in the ministry have feet of clay, they sin just like other people but we hold them to be better somehow or something?? If it would make you feel better just forget about it. Unless something else happens........

I get what you're saying Moose, and no, this isn't personal against you, if you're taking it that way, that isn't my intent. I personally don't think his intentions are to DO anything with her, I think he trusted her and it slipped on out. Maybe he regrets telling her, I don't know. Either way a line was crossed as many prefer to think their paster/priest/rabbi is "pure". He changed that by opening up too much.
