What Does it Mean When a Poster Follows You?

Hey guys, I just received a notification that a certain poster is following me.  

When I clicked on it and discovered who it is, I noticed a few others following me.

What does this mean?  Is it like Twitter where they can follow your posts without having to search?

If on that list, the posts of a member one follows will show up in the enhanced personal activity stream and there should be notifications of their posts in the 'bell' notification list. One can be followed visibly or invisibly, it depends on the choice of the following member. As to what it means beyond that, it depends on the follower.
