If you read the boards enough you’ll see that men do the same thing !

also : how u know they aren’t meeting in general vs just not meeting u , no offense

Fair enough, although...over the years and on various message boards, especially Reddit, it's mostly the men that have complained about this as the women are the pursued. Men would be happy with just a bone thrown their way. lol

I am wondering why would a woman engage in a man after all this time, if the answer was a "No" when they first started talking?  This whole "getting to know you, via incessant texting back and forth without ever meeting, before getting to know you" is absurd.  I've even had some women agree...if they are constantly texting without ever meeting, they are just doing it for the attention.

Don't know.  I suspect it is rarely "no" from the fist message or even if it is maybe they are giving him a chance, after all isn't that what men say they want?  I also may not understand what you mean by flakng.  If you mean just back and forth messaging that then stops I think you have your answer, they just gathered enough information that the guy is not it...but are reluctant to say it for all the time immemorial reason people have been to directly reject someone.

I do understand that the getting to know you before meeting basically does include figuring out if the stranger you met on-line is even safe to meet.

I am sure there are women who like to be just pen-pals, I've never met one,  maybe because used pay OLD sites.   I generally do believe it is what they say...getting to know you (and you them)...just a very different approach from yours, so just move on if it irks you...seems a bit judgmental to say all they want is "attention" as if that is necessarily bad and even if you met and were in a relationship some people love text as their love language so this may well just be a preview.

I would personally just move on if you get the impression they want to be just pen-pals, there seem to be plenty of men who want to be just pen-pals as I've only heard that complaint from women in OLD, never from men...other complaints from men but not that one.

This is all true. It's a good time in history for us.

It depends on what you want in life. That is true if you're interested in hooking up with a good looking dude. Even fairly average women can do that pretty easily with Tinder, etc. If you, on the other hand, want to get married and start a family, it is one of the worst times in history for women.

I don't think so.  My daughter and her friends- all in the late 20's early 30's- are married.  Men I date want to get married or at least live together.  (Social security and medical insurance are factors in my age group, many don't marry but live together but consider it marriage.)

Very late to the conversation but yeah, lots of women like being unmarried and living alone, and now at all ages not just as widows like in the old days. I am unattached at 60 and not worried or seeking at the moment.  I have family to still care for anyway as many of us in the sandwich generation have.

Are you seriously saying that if women want to have a romantic relationship/marriage they need to become romantically involved with average-looking men, even when those women are hot, because physically attractive men don't want relationships?

The only men who are interested in something serious are plain-looking men?

I need to call my mother and have her build a golden statue for my father, because he got married to her when he was young and has been happily married to her for the past 40 years, and I dunno about where you live, but I don't think a 6 feet tall 200lbs at a low body fat despite being retired and doing nothing all day while being a Last of the Mohicans Daniel Day-Lewis clone would be considered ''average-looking'' even in the halls of Hollwood itself.

Don't be bitter. Work on yourself, hit the gym hard, and stop being envious of what the men who put work and effort into themselves have in their lives.

This is one of the best times in history for women, as they are free to own a house, work a job, live on their own, and engage in casual sex/long-term relationships/marriage, whatever they want.

What you mean is this is the worst times in History for western men who want young, physically attractive women and feel they are entitled to their bodies and to have children with them, because they have money.

Nah.

Move to the Islamic Republic of Iran, dudes who think having money puts you in the same league of women like Sara Matos. Women in the west aren't for sale anymore.

I think you are right. I feel sorry for incels who are forced to go without female "companionship". It's a crappy way to live. Unfortunately our laws here in the U.S. are much more puritanical than most of Europe in that regard. Hopefully that will change in the near future. The government has no business regulating what happens sexually between consenting adults.

There is no such thing as an involuntary celibate. Go to your local wallmart. Are those men to be the next Brad Pitt or the next Cristiano Ronaldo?

No?

Yet they still have girlfriends.

Men who complain about not having women interested in them, men who complain about not having any woman interested in sleeping to them, are the men who are only interested in women who are younger/more physically attractive than them. There's plenty of women who'd love to date them, but these women are overweight or obese or plain-looking or they're in their 30s, and the ''incel'' feels like he deserves ''someone better''.

You know there's nothing stopping these young men who aren't sexually satisfied with their sex lifes from getting on a plane, flying to Germany or Sweden, heading out to the red district and having sex, right?

Now there is, with the stuff that is going on, but before that these guys would rather complain about their lot in life and about women in general(''incels'' hate wmen) instead of doing something to better their own lives.

Young, physically attractive aren't even that picky. They aren't expecting a guy who is rich, or a 6'6'' 25 year old Brad Pitt. They'll even date older guys gladly, and all they want is a guy who is average-looking, that is to say, a guy who doesn't destroy his body with fast food, soda, alcohol, and cigarettes.

Most guys around here are between 5'10'' to 6''4'' with a slim body build, which it's very easy to develop, and they're doing fine with physically attractive women.  I also met lots of middle-class men who were 5'5'' to 5'8'' and they did also fine with attractive women.

Talk to women, take care of your body, brush your teeth, shower daily, wear clothes that fit your body and you'll do fine.

And honestly, I feel like most men who consider themselves to be incels are closeted homosexuals because they spend their whole lives talking about hot guys and sharing pictures amongst themselves of shirtless  dudes.

Traditionally, women have always had strong social networks.  I believe it's the connection with other women, the sharing of highs and lows and support which keeps our suicide rate lower than that of men - we 'workshop' our problems with our mates.   It's also that same connection to friends, combined with financial independence, which sees some older women not bothering with dating or relationship anymore.

I don't know, but it might not even be a recent phenomenon. I knew a lot of widows growing up and none seemed inclined to remarry and give up their assets and freedom.

Same. My aunties are all in their 50s and 60s and 70s and most are unmarried and chilling. They never needed a man, and they enjoyed casual relationships, and since they have their own money and freedom - why would they give up on any of that for a guy who's probably been in love with Bud Light since the age of 20?

😆  Not sure they're ALL in love with Bud Light but gotcha.  Honestly, I'm just exhausted from family demands and cannot wait to feel like your aunties.  Soon!

Friendships are a two way street and if you have a friend who isn't there for you when you need them, they weren't your friend to begin with.

It's definitely about reciprocity. Also maturity, to be able to be honest with each other and give enough space.

I don't know what the answer is during lockdown @QuietRiot I've talked to three different guys so far, the first way too much. Texting back and forth and talking a lot there's a friendship develops which is not necessarily going to lead to a romance, and I'm ok with being someone's friend ( I don't have sex with my friends though ) but really I was online looking for a serious relationship again. Great timing 😁

It's something to think about with pensions and stuff, if I remarried I'd not be entitled to my former husband's social security for example.

I reckon co-habitation wives who've been living with the guy for decades are entitled to the dude's pension when he dies. Dunno. Not a lawyer. I get paid to serve people their drinks and smile.

Anecdotal examples notwithstanding, the marriage rate in the U.S. is the lowest ever recorded (since the 1800's). The situation in Europe is even more grim.  Of course a beautiful woman will never be alone unless she wants to be, but even so, beauty fades.

I just saw an interesting video about a matchmaker (Rebecca Lynn Pope) who quit because she says that young women are picky to a fault and that makes her job impossible. In her words, she says that they want a loyal, reliable guy who is just as exciting as a handsome f-boy, and that doesn't exist. Again, her words, not mine!

You know, honestly, if anyone should be a raging red-pill it's me. I've been screwed over twice in LTRs, one being a decades long marriage. I just can't bring myself to hate women. Generally speaking, I find most women very likeable and charming, and that will never change. I am definitely less naïve now of course, and realize women are subject to the same faults and temptations that men are. Lesson learned. I do understand the frustration of a lot of young men that is fueling the red-pill movement. I have to laugh though because avoiding all women because some are bad means living a life alone, and having your genes die out. Strange times we live it.

Exactly!  And a lot of other things pop up too.  You have to keep your own interests at the forefront, which frankly a lot of older women were socialized not to do.  I kind of watch my daughters on this, a generation ahead in terms of maintaining the self/partner balance.

Lowest ever?!  Wow.  Oh well, Zona, don't assume that a decline in marriage is grim.  Maybe marriage is just changing and we're all changing it, which could be good or neutral.

The divorce rate in Europe is ''grim'' because Europeans don't see the point in getting married, and most women who do get divorced do so,  because their husbands and boyfriends turned out to be jerks. They don't want to work. They have the emotional developement of a rock. They sleep with other women, or they beat them up, physically or emotionally. Who the heck would want to stay married to a guy like that?

It's a religious institution that has had it's time and it's now fading away slowly, but surely. In Europe they tend to co-habitate with their long-term boyfriends and girlfriends, although the average age for a man to leave his parents house is around 19 in the Scandinavian nations, and nearly 30 in Spain, with many millions still be living with their parents in Italy, France, and Portugal, including other nations, well into their 40s and 50s.

I know a guy who moved out of his parents house at 35,  lived with a woman for 6 months then went back to his dad's house and is still there, 15 years after coming home again.

Why are there so many young men living with their parents?

Because they are broke as hell. Like the young women are.

Now, are these young men and not so young(dudes in their 30s+) forced to be single, forced to be ''celibates'' because they don't have money and because they can't afford the downpayment on a 160,000 euros on their 600-900 euros a month paychecks(when they have a job in the first place)?

No. Most of them are in romantic relationships, or they're going to nightclubs and hooking-up with women.

No, there is no understanding the hatred-filled pit of hell that the ''red pill'' is. Men who are born in Islamic nations, men who are born in India and in China have a little bit of a reason to be frustrated, because arranged marriage means if they are broke they can't get a wife, casual sex is forbidden by death, and since there are many millions more women living in each of those cultures, many men will die without a wife.

But that ain't women's fault.

It's women's fault.

Stop killing baby fetuses because they desire a baby boy so much, and adapt to the modern world. Change their culture. Be more like us.

Western red pillers are nothing more than entitled man-children who want the state to assign them a woman when they turn 18, and jesus christ,  they should all be sent to mental institutions.

Maybe having brains that are too big will eventually lead to our extinction. The birth rate average in Europe is about 1.5 births per woman. The replacement level is around 2.2 or 2.3. I think the U.S. rate is close to 1.5 now too.

Every other species on the planet just procreates when they have the opportunity. Humans way overthink it and can easily talk themselves out of it.

I got a gift and some bro-hugs from my sons this morning, and they are taking me out for lunch. That is awesome. Marriage is way more than a religious tradition. It means someone having your back, pooling your resources, fun family times, birthdays, Christmases, graduations, beautiful grand-babies, etc.  That works for me.

People in Europe aren't having children for several reasons.

1) Children are extremely expensive.

2) Children take a lot of time to take care of, feed, clean, wash, give attention to, play with, teach them, etc etc.

3) Who wants to spend their 20s or 30s raising a kid when life is much more chill when it's just you and your girlfriend?

João Félix.

19 years old.  Made 5 million euros after taxes, plus the half million of euros he was making before he was bought by Atlético de Madrid, plus the signing prize he got when he signed for the Spanish club. He's dating a supermodel who has talked often about her dream in life being having children.

Is this soccer player rushing to have children?

No.

Cristiano Ronaldo. 35 years old. The world's first soccer billionaire.  His oldest child is 10 years. He had his kid when he was already 25 years old, despite having millions and millions and millions of euros at hand, plus all of those millions of women who'd love to have a child of his.

Neymar Jr. 300+ million euros in the bank. Millions of women throwing themselves at him. He has only one son. When he could have so many more sons.

There are billionaires out there who either don't have even one child, or they have one but father their child when they get to their 60s or 70s.

Why would European Middle-Class(and most European Middle-class is several tiers below middle-class Germany) have children when they're broke as a doorknob on a brothel's door when even filthy rich people aren't having kids, and if they do, it's just one or two at most?

Same thing happens in the states. I moved to Europe from California because I'd need to sell a kidney to attend UCLA film school and to live there without my parents help, so I moved to a Country that reminds me so much of home, while being much cheaper.

No one can afford having a kid these dudes, bro. Blame it on late-stage capitalism, if you will.

And you know what? People found out that they can be quite happy childless and without being married.  Date someone who lives in the same street but lives with her parents while you live with roomates, and every time you're with her it's fresh, fun, and there isn't a routine established. Nothing kills a woman's sex drive faster than seeing the same dude everyday of her life.

Now if you were to ask me if I want children?

No. I don't like chidren at all. I don't want to change dirty diapers. I don't want to put up with a kid. I don't want to spend 18 years either raising the kid under my roof, or paying child-support to her mother for 18 years old. The kid might be born physically defective or mentally defective. I don't want to waste my time and my money on someone like that. What if I have a son with micro-genitalia and women don't want them? What if I have a son and the kid turns out to be gay? Nothing wrong with that, but gay men don't usually reproduce, and what's the point of having kids if your kid won't have a kid of their own?

And I might have a daughter. What then? I grew up watching my mother and my sisters and cousins getting sexually harassed every single day of their lives. I wouldn't want that to anyone, let alone a daughter.

Nah bruh, chill. Hit the gym hard, live with roomates, hook-up with women, buy a playstation 5, and watch as the men and women you knew in college and are younger than you look older than your sixty-something dad because marriage ages people faster than Sonic can run.

That seems to be more of a struggle for women than men for sure. A lot of guys assume their wives are "good girls" that are happy to have scheduled and polite sex indefinitely. WRONG. You really need to keep things fresh and interesting and push the envelope.

I haven't been in the manosphere ( and probably should not ) but where I live we are having a huge human sex trafficking issue, I don't know if it's part of the same issue, a man wanting to be 'assigned a woman' I mean, feeling angry if they aren't having sex:

Over the past 10 years, the flakiness of women has gotten worse. You’d meet a girl, hit it off, get her number and agree to a date. And either she’d no-show, or cancel right before. I found myself putting in all this effort for nothing, it was very defeating. It’s not the way courting worked when my parents met.

What I saw in movies – where having a good heart and being yourself is all you need – that’s not what happens now. Good and nice aren’t attractive any more. The manosphere fundamentally became a surrogate father for the life lessons I never got.

~ Morpheus Manfred from The Red Pill ( 2016 )

I don't think he's correct, well not for me anyway. Having a good heart is totally what I look for, good and nice. Why would I be around anyone who wasn't? I wouldn't feel safe.

There was a little media stir here when someone planned to open a mechanical brothel in the city in 2018:

The council updated a local ordinance Wednesday to ban patrons from having sex with a device resembling a human at a business. Under the new regulation, a business could still sell the sex robots. Turner speculated that the business might have been attracted to Houston because it remains the only major U.S. city without zoning and has a strong history of resisting regulation. He said the council’s move was not targeted at any one particular business, rather “at this type of behavior” by any businesses.

It's quite strange really, that idea of 'this type of behavior'. The group which organised the ban Elijah Rising said all prostitution is wrong, and equated it to human trafficking, a problem which has continued. I think having these conversations is very difficult for some people because of their perception of morality, but to me the only question about opening a sex robot place is does it increase or decrease crimes against vulnerable women or children here in our city.

And you shouldn't be in the manosphere. It's a terrible enviroment for anyone.

Most of it's inhabitants are middle-aged men who've gone through a bad marriage and a bad divorce and now are completely turned off from the idea of ever having a romantic relationship with women - despite the fact that they don't stop thinking about women - and alongside these middle-aged men, there's a lot of young men who grew up socially isolated from the opposite sex for a variety of reasons, and they grew up on a steady diet of porn, which makes them internally belief that if a woman doesn't instantly want to have sex with them because he glanced at her for one second...

Then no woman in the universe would sleep with him.

It's a very toxic online enviroment. For men AND for women.

It's normal for young men(and for young women) to want to have sex. The problem is when these guys decide that it's too much work to talk to women, to get to know them, to approach them, or to at very least give women the opportunity to approach them by actually getting themselves out there instead of spending all day long playing video games and watching porn.

In Spain there's a huge problem regarding sex-trafficking because more and more young Spanish men are giving up on approaching women in nightclubs/bars/meeting women through friends and instead they're heading out to brothels, which in turn increases the occurences of women being kidnapped or lured from their Countries of origin, mainly South American Countries, to satisfy the demand for sex workers.

''Why Spain’s brothels are filling up with 20-year-old johns''

''Visiting prostitutes has become increasingly common for 20-year-old Spaniards such as Antonio, according to the police. And questioning whether or not the women are victims of human trafficking is not something that commonly crosses the minds of these young clients.''

''According to Nieto, all types of young men can be found in brothels – rich, poor, blue-collar and students.''

For Martín, prostitution is related to supply and demand. “If that’s what the young men are demanding then, as a consequence, there will be more women who are obliged to prostitute themselves,” she argues.

Sex now. Reflection later

“It doesn’t surprise me,” says Marta Arasanz, a psychologist specializing in sexology, responding to the findings of the police.

“Despite the fact that today there is more sexual liberty than ever before and maybe young men have the easiest access to sex in history, this generation lives in a world of immediacy – everything has to be quick, here and now, and sex is no exception,” she explains. “Prostitution fits in with this philosophy that demands quick pleasure without consequences or commitments.”

The Article's title is called Why Spain’s brothels are filling up with 20-year-old johns

if you want to read up on it.

What I would prefer would be for these young men to develop a social conscience and to grow up. Sex is fun, but it's not a human need, in an individual level. Men do not develop mental illness over not having sex, and men do not become physically ill due to a lack of sex. Lots of men go through their entire lives without sex and they're fine, good sons, productive members of society, and lots of men have sex, figure out it's aight but not life-altering and move on.

But there are so many millions of young men around the world who aren't like that, and that's very dangerous and it needs to be looked at with careful attention.

There are plenty of sex workers out there who aren't stolen away from their parents, who aren't working in the industry because they need money and are desperate. I dated an escort years ago that I met at the beach and while we we're getting to know each other, she took a liking to me, and wanting to be straight-honest with me she told me what she did for a living.

500 euros a session, 3 clients a day, 6 days a week.

She was doing it despite coming from an upper-middle-class French family because she enjoyed the easy money, the lifestyle, and everything she could afford with the money she was making. But most of the women who aren't individual,  independent sex workers without a pimp, working in brothel?

Those women are being exploited and abused.

That was the move in the UK in the 80s, decriminalise what we called prostitution then. The women were not breaking the law if they had sex for money, but all the related activities like pimps and soliciting were illegal.

Sex worker on her own terms is very different than exploited and abused.

I am finding that dating men my age they are way more fragile than I remember, I do feel I have to watch everything I say in a way I'm not comfortable with ( my language can be colourful at times! ) and I'm gravitating to men about a decade younger, they seem to like me more if that makes sense 😃 It could just be the Covid situation messing with everyone too.

Yeah,  in Germany and in the Netherlands and in Spain there are legalized brothels in the red district area, and in other European Countries where brothels aren't legalized, independent prostitution without a pimp being involved is accepted by the authorities. There are even national newspapers with thousands of very detailed, very graphic sex ads from escorts, and they even have reality shows with escorts in them, with the magazines talking about the show going deep about what she does, how much she charges, and for how many hours.

It's so different from the states.

And now there are online websites featuring tens of thousands of young women who as soon as they turn 18 rush to become ''camgirls'' getting naked on camera and doing all stuff of sex-related things for a few dollars. Russian women, South American women, even Indian women, with the women from developed western countries charging more money to get naked, and charging more and more for the sex acts on camera that the women from under-developed Countries charge for despite being as physically attractive as the Americans,  and the French and the German and so forth.

Let's be honest. This is prostitution. Even if the men watching these women can't touch them.

Yeah, i feel that older men have more of a fragile ego because their bodies are letting go. They aren't as young as they used to be. Can't exactly perform like a 18 year old Manchester United player and they feel like they aren't men anymore.

I'm not really looking for advanced sexual gymnastics myself! I like my friend best of all the men I've met so far but he too is a bit hung up on his age, though he's really fit and gorgeous looking.  It's all a frame of mind I guess. The date I had to cancel I can tell he's really comfortable with himself, and that's attractive. I did wonder why he's online so much, I hardly go on there and every time he's online or been on recently, but apparently dating is a 'numbers game'! Not to me- I'll get them all muddled up...

Sex work is also legal in Australia.  Our sex workers pay tax, can press charges if they are assaulted or raped, have OH&S and easy access to medical care.  They also have a respectable presence in the disability sector.   (edit: probably only respectable to progressives 🤔)
