Get better soon, Ellener!

You are very brave in the way you are tackling it and talking about it, kill it.

Have you tried soaking in a hot detoxifying bath at all?  Steam is good for breathing.  Also maybe try Vick’s under your nose and as a chest rub to open up breathing.

Good idea. I take a daily hot bath with epsom salt. The salt draws out impurities and has a detoxifying effect.

Thank you. What a week, what a year.  I want to DO something on 101things and I can't even go out...now we have a tropical depression coming in.

Talk to a doctor, seek help.
Get assessed.

It's not really safe to go to a hospital here right now, if I have covid I could infect others, if I don't I could get infected, plus I'll have a panic attack just to get there/when I get there! My anxiety could be the heart/breathing symptoms as much as anything. My son set me up this new computer so I can do online consultation, but it's not quite working yet, I wish I'd just had him get a new one/setup regular internet. Then the next minute I'm thinking wellthe money should be just used on rent and food. The unemployment for self-employed stopsnext week and my savings will last a while if I don't spend any money. It's all a bit overwhelming when life falls apart totally.

It's not the same in America @elaine567 you have to find your own doctors and make sure it's funded. It's a bankrupting experience if you make a mistake. Most of us are on the brinkof disaster even when things go well, I didn'trealise before. I always had a n emergency fund and this is the first time I needed it. It sucks.

This computer I can't type properly the space bar doesn't always work, and it's too heavy too have on my lap.

I am trying to empty the fridge/freezer and eat more. I do believe in health via nutrition. And the power will probably go out in a big storm.

Mylittle dog is so great at using puppy pads. I trained her for the flooding, she is wonderful. My apartments have valet trash. I keep telling myself, all I have is allIneedand other mantras.

No one knows what to do, but this is the best place in the world for holding on to personal strength and values,, even when wrong, and my friends are equally shocked and confused but we'll regroup.

I am usuallymore positive than this, there's a lot going on.

PLEASE rest and take care of yourself, Ellener. We're all thinking of you and will do whatever it takes to help - just ask. 🥰

I'm doing ok, just tired. Chest pain isn't as bad tonight. Diarrhea gone.

Covid is levelling off in Houston, 60 000 confirmed cases, lot more awaiting testing after quarantine.

Tropical storm on way, looks like hitting well south of us.

One of my best friends texts every day, he laughs at me says I'm invincible and I'll find my true love when this is over. I hope so!

How are the vocals holding up Ellener?

funny you should ask , I just sang a little song to my long term friend, she would have been my ideal love except I got conditioned to look for a man 'that's the glory of love'.

My voice is almost gone now though. I can only sing small bits. I can write forever.

It's like having an elephant step on your chest!

Is that something you have prior experience with, El? ;)

You're in luck, sweet lady.  Tomorrow is an off day from the gym for me which means I'll have plenty of strength to spare so I'll be sending all of it in your direction to get you on the road to recovery.  Rest easy.

That was a foregone conclusion as soon as I sent you all my strength last night before I went to bed.  COVID didn't stand a chance after that. ;)

Wait... Getting COVID-19 made you lose interest in men? 👀

Keep a wide berth of this thing, ladies.  This virus is much worse than I thought.

I'm not sure that's how it happened, but it's how I'll remember it!

@Ellener   Glad you're feeling better.  My golf buddy and his wife who have it are feeling better as well.  They're in their late 60's. They never got the chest infection.  They had the intestinal infection and everything that comes with that.  Odd that it affects everyone differently.  Good luck to you.

Nice to see you back. Wow. You’re fortunate. To get over corona and find out you’re a lesbian all in the same week. Btw did you ever get the test results?

I have to admit you did catch me off guard though!  Interesting how we discovery new things about ourselves all the time.  I find that to be one of the joys of aging.

I have been friends with my friend for 15 years. I don't think she would be as out there as me to make a couple, she's gentle and quiet and I'm loud and angry...she doesn't want to be out. But she would not have let me die on my own either.

I am loved.

I was loved.

The very good thing which came out of this horrible week is my son and I talked in great depth.

I had the same talk with my dad towards the end of his life, we reconciled!

He says I have to come out of quarantine tomorrow and get antibiotics if I have pneumonia then get on with my life!

I don't think life is ever going to be the same again, I am scared but I'm still here, so I guess the universe has another purpose for me....

Have you seen or talked to a doctor, Ellener?

I think the man who I talked to from CDC testing was a nurse, one of my close friends is a retired GP doctor, I talked to her too but she got sick herself soon after me.  But the general consensus here right now is people stay home 14 days so they don't infect anyone else. The hospitals are full in Houston anyway.

It's going to be difficult for me to go to hospital, I have a panic/anxiety disorder so I'll do an online consultation today.

Even that will be difficult, if I have a panic attack!

But I am definitely better except I'm paranoid about going outside. I was like this after Harvey. I'll call that doctor who got me well after that too, but it's $350 an hour.

The US medical system is very difficult to negotiate for me. And I don't want to wipe out my savings if I have no income for months.

In the UK you can go out after 7-10 days since symptoms started, if you only have cough or/and loss of sense of smell and taste.I'm glad you're feeling better, and stay at home it it's more calming and comfortable.

@ellener. Medicaid?

No medicaid in Texas. Not for PPACA anyway, I think it's available for people with children or some seniors here. I bought a plan from healthcare.gov but I never use it, I believe in people getting well not being sick in a 'revolving door' programme. In Houston there are numerous projects which sprung up to take care of specific people/conditions eg homelessness, HIV etc.
