curlygirl40
Hello This past weekend I surprised my boyfriend with a cool thing for his birthday. More of an experience vs a gift. He had a lot of fun with it and during this crazy time when there aren't concerts, etc. going on, it was just a fun thing to celebrate his birthday. A girlfriend of mine, who has been married for 30 years, said to me 'That's so sweet. The last thing on my mind these days is 'what can I do for my husband to surprise him' '. She didn't say this as a mean thing but just that after so many years, she's not at all thinking about doing these fun things to surprise her husband and make him feel special. It made me sad actually. Now my goal is for us to never get to that point where we don't want to do special things for each other. What sorts of special things/date nights/fun surprises do you do or have you done for your significant other?
d0nnivain
The surprises are nice but it's more about the day to day. Saying please & thank you. Cooking his favorite meals. He always opens doors for me. It's more the steadying comfort of knowing he's there. We always reconnect & recharge on vacations, not that we can go anywhere now. Last summer we bought a sports car & have had fun with that. I guess the big Covid thing has been he finally agreed that we now have a lifestyle that allows us to have a dog so we adopted a Dalmatian.
