What does a guy mean when he says this?

Recommended Posts

So I decided to make my next post a lot more chill, and not so depressing. Anyway I have this one guy on snapchat. He posted on his story a yolo (which is basically a autonomous say anything/ask me anything type thing) So the guy posted that on his public story which means all his "friends" can see it. So someone asked him if he had a girlfriend yet, which he responded with "No,not yet 😂" (a laughing emoji if it doesn't show)

So anyway what do you think he means? Or really any guy who says things similar to that. I've had similar situations were a guy says that and my friends usually say he's looking but no girls like him. Others say the guy likes someone and is in the "talking" zone. After the helpful advice on my last post I've decided to ask this. Sorry if this has been asked before, I looked to see if it has but I didn't see anything.

Are you interested in finding someone to date?

You could start liking his stories, see what happens.

However it's best if you have real life friends.

I would just interpret that as @Mrin said: he has no girlfriend but he wants one.  The laughing emoji just reminds me of how some people over use lol and the laughing emojis to keep things light.

That's what I was thinking as well, but I wanted to see what others thought as well

Honestly yes but no. I would like too but not going to pursue anyone right now, life keeps getting in the way.

That explains that but I'll never understand you would put that on a serious topic/question

I agree with you, but it is something I have noticed especially with young people.  I suppose it is out of nervousness of putting himself out there by answering the question candidly much like how people laugh nervously in serious situations or under pressure.

Agree. If he said No :( he would feel/appear too vulnerable.

As a young person myself I feel dumb for not realizing (all my friends do it) Yeah, for some reason I didn't think of that

Yea that's truth as well. I feel like if girls do it, it's a lot more cuter and less vulnerable. I feel dumb for asking this question haha

Anything on Yolo is not serious. It's more like a teen truth or dare game.

That's why the app is popular with 12 to 18 yo kids.

It's not a dating app. It's just a game that's why he has that answer.

It means he doesn't have a girlfriend but may be open to having one. It's a handful of words so don't bother reading into it too much.

If you specifically are interested in him, ask him out already.

He said he don't want love stuff from me, I really don't want to get rejected but directly this time

OK, so you know he's not interested in you. In that case I'd leave him be - otherwise you're just setting yourself up for rejection again.
