My contract is set to expire next month. Should I tell recruiters?

Recommended Posts

Guys,

Bcs of covid situation,my company is not extending expired contracts. My contract will be expire on 21st of October and till that day I will be employed.

Situation is that I applied to another job and I received call from recruiter who asked me how much I earn now and how much I want in new company and things like that.He said that we will also have skype interview and that if they give me job,it will take 4-6 months to join in their team.

Should I tell that I am going to be terminated in October(3 years contract not extended),or should I just keep quite.I am just wondering that if they see that I am in need for job, they might start looking to me in another way.You know what I mean.

Thank you so much! This forum many times helped me in my life!

Go find another job ASAP and jump ship. Focus on you and spend most of your time looking for a job and not on the project you’re assigned too.  If you feel compelled to stay negotiate that into your new position but don’t shoot yourself in the foot for a few weeks longer at a temp job.  If a recruiter told me it would be 4 to 6 months before I started working and asked me to take a pay cut, I would look elsewhere.  That is a bad deal all around.  Unless, they are offering a signing bonus and extra PTO.  They have no loyalty to you and you shouldn’t either.
