It seems odd that they would use such an unreliable system. You should definitely raise that issue to your boss. I understanding not wanting to use your phone calendar, but if this is the system they use, you can take it or leave it. If this is the system they use, then you need to look at your calendar from time to time. If the reasoning for not doing it is that you expect the calendar not to change, that reasoning no longer holds water since your calendar will be changing. I am not against using the phone calendar, but I need the calendar to update itself when changes are made but also alert me as well, which it fails to do both.
