Is there a way to figure this out for work reports at all?

Should I just suggest to them, that even though there may be holes in it, to just pay me best they can with the holes, and compromise?

Well here is the problem.  I keep forgetting to write down the mileage as I go because I am so busy going from place to place in the job, and things keep changing in the schedule, that I keep forgetting to write it down at the time.

Part of your job is to write this stuff down.  You need to make it part of your routine.  This may not be the job for you if you can't master this.

You get PAID by the miles / time so that alone should motivate you to get it right.

Buy a small notebook & a pen.  Keep them in your car on the passenger seat.  Make a habit of getting in the car & write down the time & mileage.  Do it again at your destination.  If you get into the routine of doing this every single time you get in or out of the car it will just become automatic.

It's a good habit to create.  You will need this skill when you make your movie.  Every detail will be important.  Every dollar in your budget will need to be accounted for.   If you use your personal vehicle for movie business you may be entitled to a tax deduction.  You need the practice with this level of documentation.   So start looking at doing this as getting you closer to your dream career

100% Agree... Between this mileage problem, the snow/ice, all of the driving and the computer login issues, I just don't think this job is the right fit for you.

It just feels like you are trying to fit a square peg in a round hole, you should start thinking about a different vocation.  This one is causing you way too much angst and loss of sleep.

You can guesstimate using a map. There are also apps that will help with tracking your mileage.

He needs to give the employer the numbers from his odometer.   Apps aren't that much help there.

There are apps that will track how many miles you're driving. Click "start" and the app starts tracking your mileage until you click "stop." Trip A = 10.4 miles. Trip B = 6.1 miles. Etc.

If he wasn't keeping track of it in the past, he can estimate. For the future, he can use an app or the old-fashioned notebook and pen method.

Yeah it's just my memory having problems, and at the end of the week, it's hard to remember where I have been in order for me to enter it properly.  Not an app problem, but a memory problem on my part.
