Medical records are always de facto legal records. They may document whatever you stated in quotes, but other than that, character assassination are not in their best interest on any record that could end up in court at any given time. Depending on the location, try to find another specialist who may deal with this.
Author Watercolors
The doctors can hide their contempt for me and undermine me, if they fall back on psychiatric diagnosis; which a lot of blogs I’m reading about medical gaslighting by doctors will highlight and point out. Especially when women patients are dissatisfied with their doctor, the doctor can hide his rudeness behind, “patient presents with severe anxiety “ or such nonsense when the reality is, the doctor is just being a jerk to the female patient. It’s actually a documented problem. Plus when a woman advocates for herself with a doctor, that woman is often labeled as a trouble maker, instead of just being an advocate for herself. I am convinced that my doctor intentionally chose to write me a referral to that teaching hospital because she didn’t like me. My condition needs a specific specialist not a damn student doctor. Wiseman2
A psychiatrist and a pastor walk into a bar. The pastor says "it's so hard determining who are the sinners". Hey, doc, don't you find diagnosing your patients difficult? Doc: I diagnose them right from the waiting room: Early= anxiety disorder On time= obsessive-compulsive disorder Late= passive-aggressive tendencies.
major_merrick
@Watercolors Do you have anybody who can go to the doctor with you? I only rarely go by myself. My GF#1 never goes alone. Having a witness can be important. If they try to prevent you from doing so (they have no right to), you can always justify it by saying that you have anxiety and the only way you can cope is to have somebody along.

I hear what you are saying, the health care system and some health care providers are not always kind to patients. But, to get respect you must treat the health care professionals with respect. You truly do catch more flies with honey. It’s highly unlikely that you will find anything significantly nasty in your chart - it’s not professional to document personal judgments in a medical record. If you present as angry and hostile, people will deal with you very cautiously and people will remember... It’s not everyday that a patient accuses a health provider of gaslighting them... As a healthcare provider, I want a witness during my interactions with a difficult or hostile patient. We do this regularly to protect ourselves professionally, it goes both ways... I hope you find someone you can trust and talk with about your care. Edited October 27, 2020 by BaileyB
