ironpony
I've been having problems in my job with security technology, as in this thread I posted here: And also, I went to the office for a shift, and when I used my key card to open the door to come in, no one was there strangely, and the lights were off. The alarm sounded and I needed to enter the code, but i couldn't get the machine to work, especially since the lights were off and I couldn't see, and I couldn't find the light switch in the dark right away. I eventually figured it out but it was too late and the police were called from the alarm, and my boss, who I think might have been in bed at the time, and to deal with that. So I feel the boss may be frustrated with me over these security issues, and I am not sure how to deal with it. Should I take a course in security technology, if there are such courses, or read books on how to get better at it? Or should I learn to how deal with more high tech things so I can know how to solve the problems better?
lana-banana
It's not your job to deal with it, and it doesn't sound like you're qualified to make recommendations on this matter. The most you can do is suggest he hire an infosec consultant who can audit your systems and determine what's necessary vs not.

It seems like your problems have arisen because you can't keep track of passwords/codes, and you weren't familiar enough with the layout in the office to enter the security code in time. What exactly are you hoping to get out of a course or book on security technology that will help with those issues?
elaine567
A key card and a code are not "high tech", nor is carrying a small pen torch.

I am just 'spitballing'. Yeah I am hardly at the office since it's a delivery service job, so I have not spend much time there.
