LeniA
I ended up in the ER Thursday night last week. Was at my mom's and I told her get me to the ER,said I was having chest pains badly with pain from my arms.Luckily my mom is a retired registered nurse and knew it was heart related,Took me in and I was amazed they took me in right away saying chest pains when I got there.Did all the tests, two arteries plugged 80% with two stents put in.The stents were put in Friday morning spending 3 days in the hospital.Feeling a lot better and was lucky.Mine was not a heart attack and did no damage to my heart. The doctor was proud of me,told him I am a non smoker.Came home today.Going back to work next week,my employees, tool vendors and customer understand.Taking it easy healing up and listening to doctor's orders. At 42,I am glad to be alive and feel my mom saved my life listening to me.Lost my dad to prostate cancer not caught in time 4 years ago and she didn't want to go through it again preparing for my funeral.I did the changes two years ago when I turned 40.I gave my youngest brother a wake up call too,he better quit smoking.Still says it won't happen to him and told him this is no joke.My mom's side of the family has a very long history of heart problems. My other brother whom turns 40 next month,he has listened which my mom and I are proud of him.Good thing is he doesn't smoke too, knows it will happened to him as well
major_merrick
Wow. That's a sudden life change. Glad you pulled through, but make sure to take it easy for a while. Does your dad's family have any history of heart attacks or arterial blockage, or just your mom's side? Did the doctors have any prevention advice?
