westernxer
I was gonna hook up with this chick for a night of beer and what have you. Told her I'd call to follow up. I'm sorry Westernxer but I think it is a little rude to make plans and then decide you don't want to participate. You should have went through with your plans and then at the end of the evening tell her that you just don't feel continuing the relationship is beneficial to either of you. Next time don't make a date if you have no chemistry.

Jayhawks
and no date set. You said. Told her I'd call to follow up This sounds like some communication on your part. If she asks you about it then she was waiting on your call.
hooghie
Well, you told her you'd call and you're not going to. She may be interested and counting on you to call her. Next time, if you know the chemistry isn't there from the beginning- don't tell her you'll call! Sounds to me like you may have some 'bad boy' traits
hooghie
Sorry to pretty much repeat what you said Jayhawks- your post said what I wanted to say and I hadn't seen your post yet.
Author westernxer
It may sound rude on my part because I'm omitting details, but those details are what led me to make my final decision, even though they may sound trivial to someone who possesses a different point of view. Bottom line is there's no chemistry.
Author westernxer
Sounds to me like you may have some 'bad boy' traits It all depends on the circumstance, I suppose. *chuckling* I do enjoy the different viewpoints, though, since I hardly ever provide details about my own life. Figure it's time I did so, just to provide further discussion. I bet I'm not the only one on here who said they'd call and never did.
Author westernxer
Okay, you guys win. I called. Thanks for not letting me off so easily. I needed that. Mil gracias. You guys rock!
hooghie
I bet I'm not the only one on here who said they'd call and never did. That usually doesn't happen to me since I'm female, but I have on occasion given out the wrong number because I don't feel like rejecting the guy face to face. I guess that's equivalent. Good for you for calling! It's a sign of maturity You can always keep it on a friendship level if you want to.

hooghie
Hey- at least he knows right away! Girls wait by the phone for weeks before they figure it out! So, what happened when you called?? Are you going to give it a chance?
Author westernxer
It was her cell and she didn't have my number, so I left a message. We'll see if she's for real or not...
stjärna
so whatever happened here? i'm curious because i've been in the same situation and didn't call (wasn't feelin the chemistry). . . i'll allow your experience to tell me . . . did i miss out?
Lishy
Maybe she didnt feel the chemistry either!! what message did you leave?
Author westernxer
what message did you leave? A very casual one... she's kinda flaky, which is why I'm taking this approach. She's also doing online dating, meeting a ton of guys in the process. I guess she's looking for the one, and has been at it for quite awhile now. This is why I'm not putting my eggs in one basket, because talk is cheap. I'd still bang her, but that's beside the point. I am going to her Halloween party, though. Hopefully her friends are hot, and not trying to hide their boyfriends for the evening, even though I know some of them will be doing just that. Oh well, I'm still gonna enjoy myself. Lonestar
If there was no chemistry you shouldn't have called. It's not gonna miraculously appear. I've gone on a few dates like that, and it was painful.
Author westernxer
Sometimes you call anyway, just to test the waters... I've already written her off, but I'll check out her party, just to see what her friends are like. Now all I need is a costume.

I don't think there's anything wrong with her doing online dating. My mom is 65 and she's doing it. Doesn't mean she's slutty! My mother is unusually picky and that's a quick way to separate the wheat from the chafe. I don't think that's flaky. You should NEVER put all your eggs in one basket anyway...well, until you KNOW for sure that she's THE ONE. And yes, talk is cheap but what does that have to do with her? What did she say to you that made you react by saying "talk is cheap." What did she do, pledge you her undying love? Man, you're one of those negative guys! I "yelled "at a gal today for the VERY same thing! ARGH! Not all girls are "hiding" their boyfriends and cheating...just the ones with no morals and ethics! Go to the party with a different vibe than the one that you're sending out here and you might...you just MIGHT meet a regular girl...you know a NICE girl with morals.
