But several of my friends that had Moderna or Pfizer have had to wait.

Yes...  I saw a news story about it and went to the CDC web-site for confirmation.

I just scheduled my Pfizer booster for Tuesday.

I got my booster, yesterday.  My arm hurts a little, but other than that... no issues/problems.

The plan was for my girlfriend to drive me to/from the pharmacy for the shot.  I did get a little light headed driving home after my first shot, so we both thought this was a good idea.

When we got in her car, there was very little gasoline in it (just above Empty).  At this point, she admitted that she is afraid of our one local gas station, as it is tight and small. "V" stated she has a hard time maneuvering around the pumps. Time was too tight to go to the gas station before my appointment, so I still ended up driving after my vaccination and filled her car up.  Luckily, I didn't get lightheaded this time.

I wish she had told me the day before about the "gasoline" situation, but all is fine.

Has anyone heard yet if they are recommending people with AI diseases or who are immunocomprimised should get a fourth shot? I've already had three, and they make me feel like crud every time. I'd heard a rumor that an additional one may be recommended but to be honest, I am getting to a point where I'm not going  to do it anymore. The whole point of taking immunosupressants is so that you don't produce antibodies.

I would wait for advice in your region. I have heard nothing about a fourth shot. IN reality, I think they will bundle future boosters into seasonal flu vaccines.

Very few countries are at a point to be evaluating the a fourth shot. Even the UK which had early roll out still has low uptake comparatively. I am in Australia and we are now being offered third shot/boosters but we also reached 90% coverage within 5 month of vaccination being generally available. So I think there will be a few other factors.

Its a scary thing too this Covid,

Im thinking I hardly will die from it- like I am reasonably fit and supposedly eat the right foods and things,

Yet it could be a bad dose, how many have died from it worldwide,

I guess anyone who gets diagnosed with an illness it can be something of a shock mentally.

sorry just rambling.

Happier now think have shaken it off,😊

had unpleasant cough and very tired there for about three days,

deep breathing exercises are helpful I found,

Personally had two vaccine shots few months ago now, but not the third shot,   so perhaps could have been worse without them.

Yes if you are any way chesty , better to do all you can to avoid the virus all the same.

I got the Pfizer booster and the side effects are much less extreme than the last time. It also helps that the person giving the vaccine was much more gentle.

That seems to be the general consensus.  Glad you're feeling better now.

I had a terrible stomach bug a few months ago, and kind of wondered if it was covid.  I occasionally get migraines, which tend to have food poisoning symptoms attached (ie lots of vomiting), but on this occasion there was no headache at all - let alone the debilitating ones I get with migraines.  I called my doctor at the time, since I have caring obligations that I have to keep on with no matter how sick I get.  The only advice there was to keep washing my hands.  I was unwell for maybe three days, though the first day was the worst.  Whatever it was, nobody else I'd had contact with got sick thankfully.

Had the Moderna booster recently.  Delivered in a swift, efficient, conveyor belt style by an army medic.  Before I got the jab another, more chatty individual went through the usual "any side effects from previous vaccine?" list of questions.  Since I did have side effects from the vaccine I answered yes...and he reacted in this almost disapproving way to tell me "better a few side effects than to be dead."  I felt like saying "yeah I know. I'm here. I just gave an honest answer to a question  you asked."  But of course rather than saying that I just gave an agreeable nod that yes, a few side effects are preferable to death.  The general sense I get is that they ask the question about side effects because they have to, but they'd rather we all just gave a cheery "no side effects whatsoever" response to minimise the chances of anti-vaxers using stats for ammunition.

Yes... I got my 3rd booster shot (Phizer) about 3 weeks ago.  The first two days, I felt a little "rough around the edges" but all in all, I was fine.

I started feeling OK, but then that "rough around the edges" feeling came back.  I had low energy and just didn't feel like doing any yard work or repairs around the house.  I can't say I'm exhausted, but I just have low energy.  I also noticed I'm sleeping a bit more.  I'm just not 100%, myself.

It is just something I've noticed about myself.  I don't usually procrastinate on chores and things I have to get done, but I've caught myself making excuses to do these chores another day or put them off until spring.

I'm not complaining, as your medic pointed out... "better a few side effects than to be dead".

the unusual symptom I had with the covid was I had quite a strong appetite, could not stop eating for about four days.

the opposite, loss of appetite, tends to be more common I think.

No booster if have had covid recently,

Is that the policy with rest of you or do you still get booster regardless?

Why can't you get a booster?

Here it's still recommended.

As it stands I am disqualified for six months because had covid this month,

cannot get the booster until in my case early June,

that having the virus is effectively the same as getting the booster,

not sure if that rule will change maybe in the next while- my age group are being given the booster this week, but yes as of now personally have to wait six months.

Okay.

The levels of circulating antibodies rise immediately after an infection, so it makes sense to wait until antibodies fall before getting a booster.

The CDC originally advised 90 days after recovery (I believe), but I have also heard you should wait four weeks after infection (not including time elapsed post initial vaccination).

Fortunately, I haven't had COVID-19.

I take heed of what my general practitioner recommends since he knows my entire medical history the best.

Hope you feel better.

https://www.nbcnews.com/health/health-news/fda-authorizes-2nd-covid-booster-shot-people-50-older-rcna21824

It appears the FDA is authorizing a second booster shot for those individuals age 50 and over.  I checked the CDC guidelines and there is NOT an update about this latest development (at this time).

I assume the CDC will review what the FDA has published and issue a recommendation (at some point).

I may ask my doctor for his opinion on this matter, if he says I should get a 4th shot... I'll go get it.

I asked a colleague about this last week, she said the seniors were not yet being boosted again. Like you I'll wait until it's recommended.
