I accept the breakup, but.

What keeps haunting me is “why” years ago, he was in a relationship with a woman who treated him like dirt, cheated on him, and even assaulted him. He once caught her on another man’s lap via a post she was tagged in, and he showed up to confront her..not long after, she cheats on him with his friend, he breaks up with her. Sometime later, she calls him, and he’s all for reconciliation, even went as far as buying her a plane ticket. She flakes..me, I treated him like a king, loved him with all my heart, he leaves me due to my request to be apart (we were spending too much time together causing bickering, arguments, etc) he hasn’t even called, or shown any remorse, at least true remorse while I sit here bawling my eyes out blaming myself for absolutely everything..why me, where did I go wrong, won’t anybody help me. 😔

Sorry this happened. It seems like you dodged a bullet. Do you think he's attracted to drama?

Overall, if you want a calm compatible respectful relationship and he wants the stuff you listed, you're not compatible.

As far as retrieving your things. Do so. Don't let passive aggressive  games stand in your way.

Make a firm mutually agreeable time to collect your item and bring a friend.

It's good you put your request for the return of this item in writing. If he continues to bar you (he doesn't have to send it or deliver it) from retrieving the items, make out a police report.

Keep untangling yourself from his drama.

Thank you for your kind words, however I do not wish to see him at this time. I know we both played a part in the demise, but I was the most affected. Despite it all, I harbor no hate, anger, or anything negative towards him..I can’t think straight right now, but the ring is the least of my worries right now. I do not know if he is, or isn’t. I can’t say that he “wants the stuff” but he did have a habit of instigating arguments. I would calmly talk to him about something, and he would get irritated at my “tone” when there was none.
