silvershadowbeliever
So my husband somehow erased his SD card when putting it into the dashcam when the SD card for it got corrupted, so he used the SD card from his phone without making sure our photos were transferred off resulting in losing all the photos on his phone. I'm really upset because I did have photos on his phone I wanted and he didn't think to make sure those were backed up first. His Google drive is backed up but it doesn't look like his phone was connected to Google photos so we can't find any of them. I'm just really upset and he said it doesn't bother him because he had nothing important on there but there were photos taken of animals and trips that he hadn't forwarded me. He said he doesn't care about photos at all and just disregarded my feelings about our memories. I don't know. Am I overreacting since it's his phone? Should I not be upset? trident_2020
There are utilities available to restore deleted files from flashcards. Once the card is used to store new data the odds of retrieving some, most or all of whatever was deleted decrease significantly. As far as your husband not caring about your feelings in regard to the lost photos, there's no software to fix that. Edited March 13, 2021 by trident_2020
basil67
I love my photos and would be disappointed if some were lost. However, accidents happen and there's no point dwelling on the feelings. All we can do is get over it and move on.
Happy Lemming
If the photos were that important to you, why didn't you take the initiative to back them up from your husband's phone?? (when you returned from the trip) Whenever my girlfriend and I travel, any pictures she wants, she backs up on her thumb drive. I also have a portable DVD/CD burner that provides a secondary backup of those files. The burner was only $9 on ebay and utilizes a USB connection. I also have pictures printed by "Shutterfly", so I can mail copies to my parents to view and keep a copy for myself in a large box.
