I don't know where this girl and I stand now. I think I'm overthinking and hurting

Hi, basically, I have been speaking to this girl for literally months as we can't meet due to distance and quarantine. Anyway, she suddenly because distant and she has done it before.

The first time I gave her the space even though I found it a bit harsh. This time though, I decided to "end it" and basically told her nicely that I do not like this treatment and would rather speak to someone else.

She apologised and agreed that we should stop as she simply can't put in the time at this minute as I deserve to be happy. I asked it was because she doesn't like me anymore. She gave an honest answer and said it's not that, she doesn't have time to date and sometimes takes time for herself and is quite stressed.

I told her I didn't realise and said it would be a shame if we did not meet and she agreed and she apologised for being so abrupt and should have spoken to me about it.

We have had some hilarious times over the phone and almost text everday apart from those times. She read my last message but has not continued the convo.

I do not want to put her under any pressure. Was I wrong to tell her that I found such sudden no contact cold and said I wanted to move on? I just don't like being treated like that. Shall I leave her be for now?

I don't know if it was a mistake to let my guard down and allowing myself to start to care for her. Now that I realise that I got the wrong impression, I don't want to lose her. Thank you.

If you can't meet due to covid conditions, chat but realize it's hard to keep that up. Try to match someone's communication rather than dress them down for not meeting your expectations. Step back a bit but relax and don't play games.

You two are stuck.  Leave it be for now.  When the world opens up again you can always reach out to try to arrange a meeting if you are both still single & interested

I think it's important to realize that most people will lose interest in a chat buddy when it goes on for months with no prospect of meeting any time soon. Real life is more appealing and if she's met someone else locally, her attention will be diverted there.

And even if she hasn't met someone, I would take her silence as the cue that you both need space for a while. She doesn't want to keep talking all the time, evidently, and you are getting over-invested.

Time for a breather from each other.
