I'm an OW and I feel like I'm now too old to find a single guy?

I divorced at age 43 from a 19 year marriage. I had no trouble at all meeting men at that age. 8 months after my divorce I met my current partner who was 33 at the time.

36 is young! You have so much ahead of you!

Thank you everyone for your inisights. It really opened my eyes and made me realize that it's not too late to do better. Regardless, I can't continue because it's getting harder knowing that he isn't free to be with me. We can never be together like that. Especially now I hardly see him because he has to temporarily work at home which makes it harder for him to sneak out. He said things will go back to normal and we will be able to see each other regularly again once his schedule go back to normal . Now I think this is the best time to end it. It's hard enough not being able to see him when I want. To live on stolen moments. All the time you we get together has to be borrowed from whatever his schedule can afford.I'm going to end it regardless because  I'm just hurting myself ...  believe deep down I believe I settled for less than I deserved

I sent him a text basically telling him that it's time for me to move on and I just can't do this anymore. He knows how I feel since I already expressed my feelings some time ago on how I want more than he can provide and need someone who is free to be with me. And I will have to move on soon a later. He knew it was coming. knowing he won't be in my life is hard as i will miss him but in the long run it's best thing for  me.I'm been feeling sad as if someone close to me died

The end still hurts even when you are the one ending it. You had dreams & they are now burst.  Grieve but don't go back.

The pain is and wil be there for some time. We, humans, are emotional beings, a blessing even when we hurt.

Think it as the necessary cost for a better tomorrow, that will certainly come.

Let me copy here for you the translated words of the Spanish poet José Agustín Goytisolo. Words that once (and now) comforted me during my own bad times.

Words for Julia

You can’t go back

because life is pushing you ahead

like an unending howl.

You’ll feel caged,

you’ll feel lost and alone

perhaps wishing you’d never been born.

But always remember

what I wrote one day

thinking of you as I’m thinking of you now.

Life is beautiful, you’ll see,

despite its sorrow,

you will have love, you will have friends.

A man, a woman alone,

one without the other,

are dust, are nothing.

Therefore you should always remember

what I wrote one day

thinking of you as I’m thinking of you now.

Never give in, never stray,

never say by the side of the road

I can’t go on, I’ll stay.

Life is beautiful, you’ll see,

despite its sorrow,

you will have love, you will have friends.

And always, always remember

what I wrote one day

thinking of you as I’m thinking of you now.

How’s it going since you texted him? What did he say?

I am hoping she blocked him immediately after but in effect it doesn't and shouldn't matter what he says as this isn't about him

And if he felt anything for her, he would respect her decision and leave her alone.
The affair was primarily about what was in his best interest, the decision to end is is primarily in her best interest.
