HuckleberryMeow
I met a guy on a dating app at the start of the pandemic. We really hit it off, had a video date, sent voice notes, and texted pretty much every single day for 9 months. We got really close, shared personal thoughts and feelings and had so much in common. Because of his living circumstances he didn't feel it would be okay meeting me during the lockdowns so we never met in person but had plans to once the pandemic calmed down. Thing is, he suddenly became distant and we communicated way less. Eventually, after some interrogation from me, he told me he wasn't able to keep up the connection he has with me because he was super stressed with work, school, family issues, etc. I wished him well and we just ended things like that. Never spoke again. Almost a year later I still think about him and almost miss talking to him. Is it desperate of me to want to reach out and try reconnecting? He still likes my stuff on social media and I see he's back on dating apps. So to reach out or not, yay or nay? Edited November 12, 2021 by HuckleberryMeow Correcting a typo. basil67
Whether or not you reach out depends on how you'll feel if he doesn't respond. If you feel resilient and know you'll be fine if he doesn't respond or isn't interested, then you've got nothing to lose. But if you'd be upset, it's probably better to leave the ball in his court. For these two reasons alone, it's best to block and delete him from the dating apps and delete him from all your social media and messaging apps. Since you are back on the dating apps, start talking to and meeting single local men for a low-key coffee ☕.
chillii
He's back on apps so it probably won't be good news apart from a few niceties so l'd agree with bas. lf you think you can handle it and still want to knowing it probably won't go anywhere and might end up being a bit humiliating , nothing to lose and it might put it all to bed for you once and for all soooo, up to you.
