Was she being honest?

Recommended Posts

I was interested in a girl in my college and initially she showed interest too. But weeks into us keeping in touch she started drifting from me and pushing me away telling me she didn't want to see me anymore for no reason which hurt me. So I cut her off.

But very recently I got a girlfriend and she found out and messaged me saying she wished she never pushed me away and wished I was her boyfriend instead of the other girl, saying she was just scared because she felt I was going to break her heart because she felt she was out of my league. Even crying with me over audio. Which shocked me because she was cold with me when we used to talk. But now saying she was always very interested in me.

But could this be true that she was scared I would end up breaking her heart or does she just want me because I have a gf?

Delete and block her and all her people from ALL your social media and messaging apps. She's playing stupid games.

Also focus on your current GF rather than guessing about someone who rejected you.

How come she’s not scared now? It’s disrespectful of her to come traipsing in over audio crying about herself when there’s another woman in your life.

Be respectful and kind when you respond but clear that you’re with someone else. Wish her all the best and focus on your current relationship. If this new gf isn’t someone you see yourself with then end it also respectfully and move on.

Humans always want what they cannot have. College is still a very early and naive stage in life, nevertheless never settle for childish games like that.
She had her chance and missed the train now just focus on giving your everything to your current girlfriend.

Does it matter?

You have a girlriend, so I would ask yourself why you're wasting any energy wondering about this.

I suspect OP knows exactly why he is wondering about this, he is still very much into her.  Otherwise he wouldn't be asking this question and this thread would not exist.  I could be wrong, just my take.

Which begs the question, OP what do you want to do?  Who do you want to be with in your heart of hearts?  It's important to be emotionally honest, with yourself first, then the two girls.

IF true you are still into this girl, then goodness gracious stop seeing the new girl, that is totally unfair to her and ultimately yourself.

As for the old girl, allow me to share a story about my boss who has been happily married for around 15 years.

Yesterday we all went out for a holiday lunch, had some drinks and someone asked how he met his wife.  He said he had been asking her out for two years, yes TWO YEARS and she always declined, every single time.

Well he finally decided to add some fake competition to the mix.  He pretended he was dating another girl, bought a big bouquet of roses and made sure his love interest (his now-wife) noticed.

They were neighbors so he walked by her house with the roses for the fake girlfriend and she surely DID notice and suddenly, just like that, she piped up and was calling him, invited him for dinner and they began dating!

As for the roses?  He tossed them in the trash.  100% true story!   They got married a couple of years later.

Like your girl, she told him she had said no to his invites because he had a 'player' reputation and she was 'scared' he would break her heart.

Nothing a little jealousy couldn't cure, apparently.  Meaning her 'scared' excuse was a load of ****!

Standard jealousy test and it worked!    I couldn't believe it but hey all's fair in love and war as they say.

At least his new girl was a 'pretend' girl and not a 'real' girl who would get hurt.

Take from that what you will OP and good luck!!
