todreaminblue
When i was a child, we had a spare room at our house that had a pea bed in it. The mattress was like a pea or a cocoon and when you lay on the mattress it would cocoon you like a pea shell, at Christmas time when my grandparents came to visit they would take mine and my sister's room and my sister and I would sleep in the spare room with the pea bed, head to toe. I loved that bed it felt a bit magical the way it surrounded my whole body, the fact my grandparents had come for the holidays, that santa was coming, that all my family were together, I have such beautiful memories and they start with that bed. As an adult I know that the bed had a really broken mattress, that my parents really could not afford to replace, I guess my mum chose presents every year for the family and us girls instead of replacing a broken mattress in a spare bedroom BUT I am glad that mattress that was broken and old is a precious memory to me......when you are a child broken, old, flawed or imperfect.....can be magical, beautiful and comforting Maybe that was god's meaning to be as a child, to remember and find the beauty and comfort in the broken flawed and imperfect........Those memories to me sure do help the hard times..... I thought i would share this here as i try to improve my self and well being as I face my own battle. I hope that every one who reads this remembers some sweet and comforting memory...happy new year and many good memories to be had in 2022....deb
