Magic548
What does it mean when my ex boyfriend (19) who dumped me 9 months ago says this to me? “You meant the world to me and changed me in ways no other girl has” Edited January 9, 2022 by a LoveShack.org Moderator fix title
FMW
He's probably letting you know you were very important and consequential in his life. But since he "dumped" you and the language was past tense, I wouldn't see it as meaning he wants to have a current relationship with you.
Author Magic548
@FMW At the end of his message he said “You honestly still have a place in my heart” Edited January 9, 2022 by Magic548
basil67
Need more context. What was the conversation before he said this?
Blind-Sided
Just means he was being nice, and didn't want to say something nasty. He's and ex. Stop looking for meaning, and move on.

How long were you dating? What was the breakup about? Guilt or trying to make himself feel or look better. It's a passive-aggressive statement because if you "meant the world to him" he wouldn't have ended it. Delete and block his sorry heinie and saccharine nonsense. Move forward in peace without this background noise.

If you said something to him along the lines of doubting whether he had ever cared for you, he may have just been assuring you that he had. If it was unprompted by you in any way, he might have just been feeling nostalgic and telling you that made him feel better about how things turned out. If that was the case, honestly it's a little selfish on his part because it resulted in you thinking about him again. Unless he explicitly says something about wanting to get back together, don't let his words give you hope. Keep moving forward.

He ended it so take it as a surface or superficial compliment and let go. Does he usually wax poetic? If so I suggest you distance yourself. Be around people who value you without the unnecessary rhetoric.
HazelBliss
Means nothing especially if that is your ex. Females have a tendency to fall in love with words.. I am guilty of this. You have to look at his actions and if his words coincide with that.
ExpatInItaly
Eh, I wouldn't read into it, despite how tempting it might be if you still have feelings for him and are looking for signs that he feels the same. It sounds as though you meant a lot to him but if you're still broken up, that is your indicator that he doesn't necessarily feel the same way now. What was the context of this comment, OP?
