jenny 73
Hi all, my hair is relatively thing and wavy! It is dark-medium brown with a bit of redness to it. I am recently thinking of highlighting it so I feel some change and would appreciate any recommendations on color/style as I have never colored my hair before and typically overthink these things
glows
I think it's best to ask for a professional opinion from a hair stylist. Are you thinking of doing it yourself? My understanding is that reds run the risk of turning brassy if lightened incorrectly. Since it's never before coloured hair you won't have to run into complications of correcting any previously dyed strands. Colouring your hair is a great way to change up a look though. As long as you've got the correct advice from someone who knows about hair colour, I say go for it.
LavenderLady
If you have normal hydrogen peroxide you can run it through your hair after showers while it's still wet then blow it dry. Or just start with dry clean hair and pour peroxide onto a small qashrag and take small thin sections randomly and stroke it town the entire shaft. Then blow dry to make it take solidly.

I wouldn't recommend this to someone who is not experienced with dying their hair - if ever. Book into a professional - if its your first time and you are already anxious about it, a professional stylist/colourist will be able to guide you through the process and ensure the ultimate outcome that you absolutely love you don't want to have a bad first experience. Good luck and have fun with it worst case if you dont love it, it's only hair and you can always go back to your natural .
