Ben328 Posted March 2, 2022 Posted March 2, 2022 My friend is a girl. I began a relationship with another girl, suddenly my friend doesn’t want to talk to me. Why?
glows Posted March 2, 2022 Posted March 2, 2022 Did she mention that she doesn’t agree with your choice in partner? How well did you know this friend? Is she an ex girlfriend?

Respect for your current GF. She does not want to cross boundaries, especially when there are unspoken feelings. Focus on your GF.
Author Ben328 Posted March 2, 2022 Author Posted March 2, 2022 My friend and dated for maybe 2 weeks maybe 4 months ago. My girlfriend knows about her and understands this a friend only

My girlfriend knows about her and understands this a friend only Don't hang out with FWB when you've found a GF. It's hurtful to the FWB and the GF. It's understandable that your FWB feels insulted. It's not a "a friend only" it's an ex/FWB. 1
central Posted March 2, 2022 Posted March 2, 2022 Everyone gets to choose, and your ex-gf chose to remove herself for her own reasons. I've had this happen, and have also had ex-gfs remain as friends without any issues arising with either them or a new gf. There is no one right answer.
Author Ben328 Posted March 2, 2022 Author Posted March 2, 2022 I wouldn’t call it fwb. There were never any of those types of benefits at all.

Be with your girlfriend more mentally and emotionally and let this ex/friend go. People come and go so be willing to let go and let others also make a choice.

mark clemson Posted March 2, 2022 Posted March 2, 2022 As I think people are alluding to above, the friend/xGF may be harboring some feelings towards you and doesn't wish to "put herself through" watching as you date someone else. Or she may (perhaps unnecessarily, but nonetheless) be trying to be respectful of your and your new GF and so keeping her distance. It's also possible she feels done with the friendship generally and would be distancing herself regardless of your dating status. If you really want to know for certain the only way is to ask her, BUT you won't necessarily get a straight answer - she may not particularly wish to have a discussion about "why" she's ending the friendship. You have your GF and presumably at least a few other friends as well. Let her move on if that's what she wants to do. 3
Author Ben328 Posted March 2, 2022 Author Posted March 2, 2022 It’s awkward because we work together too
basil67 Posted March 2, 2022 Posted March 2, 2022 Yep, well that's what happens when you date someone from work. 1
