Single and live in the middle of nowhere rarely get to socialise should I get a camper van to aid me?

Recommended Posts

Hi I live many miles from the nearest city so meeting females is a rare thing for me. If I go out in my nearest city I invariably have no where to stay, taxis are expensive and a grind and hook ups with girls are therefore difficult. My question is should I get a camper van? That way I would have someone to stay if I go out in partying in the city and maybe have somewhere where I could bring a girl back to as well (assuming she also doesn't live nearby). This could also work at the beach and other places. Or is a camper van just something that a girl would never want to go back to and repel her? I plan to convert a camper nicely to look nice but still would I be wasting my time and money doing this? It seems like a neat solution to a lot of logistical problems but in practice is it?

How old are you? Can you relocate for a higher paying job?

Luring women back to a camper is almost, but not completely, as creepy as a windowless van asking if she wants to see your puppy.

There's a dating site called 'Farmers Only' for rural singles. Probably a better idea than the camper.

I'm getting a bit fed up of dating sites they never seem to deliver, they play out like a CV and your success depends on how good you are at typing words and Im sure many of them are a scam (you finding a partner is not in their long term interest if you think about it). i'd rather meet people in real life tbh.

Can you not get an impressive car for a similar price to a camper van (perhaps I am reading it wrong)

just reminds me of a conversation I had the other day, where the guy in question said having a fancy car is one of the key factors in charming a beautiful woman,

"I neither agree or disagree, my friend "was my response,

anyway obtaining a nice car along with treating the lady to a spontaneous trip away is perhaps more the direction you should be formulating towards

you want the quick romp in the van I suppose, but I think your sights should be higher than that.

When I was in my early 40's I was re-furbishing a home in a horse farm area.  I had a regular 9-5 job, and would commute in and out of that area.

There was a local steak house that would hold a Friday night Steak and Coors draft beer special.  Everyone in that small town went to it and I got to know some of my neighbors.  I used go to that special on my way home from work on Friday night.  Is there anything like that in your farming community??

For the record, I did end up meeting and dating a woman from that small community.  She owned a horse farm a few miles up the road.

I don’t think it will work or you’ll attract a special type of person who may turn out to be more trouble than the hassle you went through getting the camper. That is creative, however.

I would not find it creepy if it were something creative!

There's a a tv show George Clark's Amazing Spaces, all these people who have refurbed small vehicles like camper vans for various purposes.

It could turn into an adventure all its own!

Uhh... no. It's one thing to be travelling the world with your girlfriend in a campervan, another thing entirely to be buying a campervan SOLELY for the purpose of having sex with women after partying in the city. Besides, surely paying for the occasional motel is cheaper than buying AND renovating a camper?

that was one thing on Amazing Spaces the renovations are all kind-of expensive! Be a real fun thing to do though.

I agree. Not realistic in the context the OP is suggesting and complete ick factor.

A friend of mine actually did that with her wife - they bought a camper and renovated it to be their home, and now they live anywhere they want in it (well, limited by camping laws and availability of facilities, of course). She said it was the best decision they ever made, but it took a LOT of time and money. To the tune of tens of thousands... and they had already saved a lot because her wife had DIY'ed most of the reno.

Well thanks for the replies everyone and for potentially saving me much time and money I might have wasted. I have done a camper conversion before that people told me looked amazing but it took a lot of time and money and I was thinking of getting something smaller and more practical. It was more to do with logistics really of some where to sleep it wasn't necessarily all about sex lol but partly I suppose and I don't think It has  to be creepy, but anyway I've remembered I don't even like one nigh stands especially after drinking drunk people aren't sexy imo. I think a shepherds hut built on the farm somewhere might be a better  spare time project and also a good conversation topic that ladies might find interesting maybe. Anyway thanks again.
