snowcones Posted May 17, 2022 Share Posted May 17, 2022 (edited) I know 2 guys who have been friends since childhood but now they had a silly beef and words were said and now they aren't speaking. It's been over 6 months. It's so sad for me to see them apart, they were so close, and I can tell that they really do miss each other and at this point, I believe it's pride and ego that is keeping them from making up. Neither probably wants to apologize or extend the olive branch and look weak or in the wrong. Is it just too soon? Does more time need to pass and they were forget and make up some day? Is there anything I can do to help them make up? I am close to one of them and can talk to him but not the other. I keep thinking of the scene on the old movie Jerry Maquire where the athlete and the agent were at a heated moment where his contract got sent over and upon seeing the low number the athlete and the agent posted up for a potentially very detrimental confrontation but their female partners were there and a lot of that energy got transferred to and through them and they were able to help bring the situation to a resolution without permanent damage. If they're moved on with their lives and find little reason to have the other in it, then let them be. What you can do is casually invite the both of them to an event that you know both will enjoy. If you're someone they both like hanging out with chances are they'll be there anyway to enjoy that time as a group of friends. I wouldn't worry about this too much as long as neither is speaking ill of the other around you. That is not acceptable. 1 Link to post Share on other sites
