There are probably a ton of people here who will disagree with me but I don't believe that you can learn to control your body chemistry or emotions. You can learn how to control your actions though.

I have to disagree with this.. You can control it with the proper balance of vitamins and minerals. It will take work to figure out the right balance and combination.

I have mentioned before in other posts about my herbalist. He siad that the symptoms of PMS can be regulated. But it would take blood tests (medical dr) to determin if there is a hormonal imbalance which IS the leading cause of PMS and monitoring of your body and moods. There is a fluctuation in a womans body of hormones and different chemicals that send the woman on a roller coaster. It does affect the mind. The snapses in the brain don't function properly and the chemicals that are surging through the brain also affect thinking. So PMS cannot be only controlled mentally it takes a combo of the property vitamins and minerals as well as choice.once the balance is in effect PMS symptons subside.

Wow, he is a great educator

I found this webpage to be very infomative.. about all avenues of quackery..

Including the medical world

I've seen this website before. It was one of those that I reviewed when I was researching skin cancer treatments..

At the risk of sounding cold and callous... just deal with it. When you feel like crying over nothing, stop. When you feel like barking at your partner or kids, stop. When you feel those insecurities welling up inside, stop. When you feel negative thoughts intruding, stop.

It's simple. But no one said it was easy.

Actually this is the sweetet thing you can do for 1.yourself, 2. your partner, 3. and back for yourself indirectly.

Sometimes I feel upset because of some things (not necessarily caused by PMS) and if I manage to persuade myself not to say or do anything about it, it just goes away. A few days later I am not upset anymore and even wonder why it upset me at all. There is something about our minds that, when we hear or feel something new (or even memories from the past or something that generally upsets you), your mind needs time to digest it. Just like when someone in the street or at work upsets you - you are angry at the moment, but a few hours later the anger is gone.

Just don't surreneder to your emotions. As JS said:

I don't believe that you can learn to control your body chemistry or emotions. You can learn how to control your actions though.
In the same manner as you've decided to brush your teeth and take your make-up off before going to bed; no matter how tired you are, you ignore the feeling of being lazy and sleepy. You just do it.

I've also developed a way of thinking that when I am feeling a little depressed, I know it will simply go away. I'll wake up tomorrow and everything will be fine. And it always is. :)

This is proven to be truth, hormone fluctuations affect the mood.

I am not sure if hormones can be balanced with vitamins and minerals. I think a happy woman doesn't have these mood changes so harshly. Your herbalist makes for a living by selling herbs and hopes. ;):p
