Mutually broke up with my gf

Recommended Posts

Hi! Me and my GF have just broken up about a week and a half ago. We lived together for 6 months and we're together for almost 8. I think we had a good relationship that became clouded with commitment, seriousness, and such. We moved in too fast as well.

We broke up concluding we both needed space. I think I wasn't confident enough, got too comfortable, and let the relationship lose its spark by not participating in nudes, more dates, and being less anxious about simple things.

it's confusing because she seems to miss me, and we held each other a few days ago, and she cried to me on the phone that maybe we could try to restart again in a few months.

It's just hard because I'm giving her space now whereas I was constantly anxious, texting her, asking for answers when she didn't have them.

Were now doing a lot less contact. I just contact her every once in awhile and she messages me sometimes to say sorry for a few things.

While with her everything seems fine. And when she's vulnerable it seems fine. I'm just starting to miss her so much. Not the fact that she's staying with her mom, but the fact there isn't a guarantee anymore that she'll talk to me, tell me she loves me, holds me, or kisses me anymore. I don't know where our relationship is headed anymore and I'm worried she'll just leave and find out she didn't ever want me in her life even though she seems to love me still.

Seeing her stuff still in the room hurts. She's about to move out with some friends probably here in a bit. And we plan on doing no contact. I'm just worried I'll lose her forever.

What questions were you asking her? Why were you so anxious?

Too much, too soon.

Relationships that move at warp-speed crash and burn, more often that not. You didn't take the time to get to know each other and enjoy the courtship phase, and it backfired. Unfortunately, it is unlikely to come back together. There is too much damage done and it's already run its course.

Take the lessons here moving forward: slow down...way down.
