Should I give it a try?

About 8 months ago I (25M) met this girl (21F) online (through a hobby). We live 4 hours apart. We had good chemistry and became friends very quickly. I developed a crush on her and decided to ask her out. We've been going out for the past month every weekend (8 times so far) and it's been amazing. It's very obvious that we like each other and enjoy each other company. I'd love to take things further, but the distance makes me think that it wouldn't last. The economic and physical cost is something that I think I wouldn't be able to bear in the long run. She doesn't drive so there's no way we could meet at the middle, and she still lives with her parents so I have to stay in motels when I'm in her city. However, she is very caring and has been paying for every activity we've done and for food to help me even out the costs. I think she would be open to give it a try, but I'm pessimistic about the success of a potential relationship. There's no way we can close the gap in the next 4 years.

Should I give it a try and just enjoy every moment while it lasts?

Enjoy it for what it is but keep in mind that it's not a viable situation so pace yourself as far as hopes and dreams.

Everything in this world is imperfect. The world is messy. Relationships are inherently complex. A guaranteed outcome is not possible.

It's fine as long as you're both single and available.

I'd suggest you poke around these forums. 

It's more complicated than catching a boatload of fish. That's for relationships without geographic limitations.

There are no rules that say you have to do x, y, and z. Get married by 30. By 35, you have kids. 

If you're safe and not hurting yourself or others, do what makes you happy irrespective of what society or others dictate.
