Kovalchoke
There's this girl I've been crushing on for a few months we have playful banter etc today somebody in our friend group blurted out how she lost her virginity and right away I got really awkward and quiet (maybe she noticed), afterward she sent me a text saying "sorry that was really awkward and uncomfortable" to which I just read and didn't reply. She sent another text afterwards saying "you're mad" to which I said "no I'm okay I'm just tired" Why would she say "you're mad"? I just thought that was really odd?
La.Primavera
Because you were awkward and quiet. Not an odd statement at all. She wanted to know you were fine and clearly you weren't. It seems there are mutual feelings here, but you are now freezing her out. Did she just lose her virginity or something? If so, I can understand why you went cold on her. However, that could be in part because you haven't made a move yet. I just assumed they were talking about the past, in which case, don't let that mess with your head. Everyone has a past. Don't let that ruin whatever is going on between you. I suspect it might be mutual feelings.

I just find it odd why she would care whether I was "mad" or not.
basil67
If anyone in my group of friends got all quiet over something which involved me, I'd care about it. I don't think it's weird at all.

How do you know her? How old is she? Who is this clown that blurted this out about her? Distance yourself from these people. If you like her, ask her out one-on-one without these "friends" and don't bring up what this bozo blurted out. Edited September 20, 2022 by Wiseman2

No. We are on a co ed sports rec team. I am 29 and she is 26. Am I stupid or maybe I am just overthinking this whole thing?

That's the best way to determine interest and show interest. Anything but a "yes" is a "no".
