Helicon5
Should you believe someone who never offers to show tangible proof of anything, but instead gets disgusted when you ask and expects you to believe what they say and says "you never believe me" when they've been caught in white lies that aren't necessary, then get upset with you for catching them? basil67
Is this another post about your girlfriend? What is happening this time?

For example a neighbor or store clerk doesn't have to answer to you. Is this a family member, friend, co-worker?
basil67
Ok. So without context, if you're 100% sure that they are lying, then you shouldn't trust them. I am curious about context though...and why you're asking them for proof if you know they are lying.

Not that I plan on getting back together. It was something she did at the time and never thought to ask to get another opinion about.

White lies are pointless, imo. Takes energy to maintain and gets boring, stale. One leads to the other until a person is a walking bag of lies and you aren’t able to discern who you’re standing beside. Over time it adds up and has an effect. No, I don’t believe it’s worth it. Seeing in your most previous post that this is hearsay or coming from someone else that may also be a lie or gossip intended to hurt you or second guess yourself. Stay away from people with big mouths.

Whenever an ex contacts you, it's for their own reasons such as dry spell, attention, just got dumped, etc. Just delete an block people like this so you can leave the past in the past without this background noise cropping up. If someone has a history of lying to you when it's not necessary, then it's perfectly logical to suspect they're lying to you on other occasions. If such a person told me, "You never believe me," I'd agree with them. If they chose to get upset at that, I would let them. I reckon there's no point getting drawn into an argument about this sort of thing.
