Chemistry is either something you have or you don't. It doesn't guarantee a relationship, but there are no guarantees in life either. You could meet someone who tick off all the boxes (as I have when I was younger) but there is absolutely nothing there. No chemistry whatsoever. So if he's single and you're single, what's the harm is getting to know each other better, I can see breaking it off if there's deal breaker like he's never getting married or don't want kids and you want to get married and start a family...then those fundamental differences are never going to make things work.
