Trail Blazer
It was almost three years to the day when I met the most amazing woman I have ever met in my life. Fast-forward to six weeks ago, we had just been informed by the selling agent that the offer we'd placed on fantastic little property in a great neighborhood was accepted. Today just so happens to be the day that we are picking up the keys to our new home. We collect them this evening. We couldn't be happier with how life has turned out since meeting. When you know, you know... It was, as stated, an amazing first date. But, moreso, one hell of a second date! Alas, everything worked out in the end and now we start a new chapter of our lives. It was great to read back on that thread. Brought back some great memories. Some, not so... but that's okay! For those who've read (or even remember) the original thread - my friendship with that group never really recovered. It wasn't without effort on my part, however, it wasn't to be I know what I'd rather have, though. The love of my life, and our humble abode which we've both worked so hard to get, trumps any lost friendships from a group I no longer see. With that being said, I feel I should make the point of stating; I know that most of this forum is geared towards people's dating and marriage problems - I'm not here to brag, I'm just genuinely excited. This forum has been with me through the lows of my marriage breakdown and separation in 2017 and was a big part of helping me get back on track post-divorce. I believe that there is always someone (as close to) perfect out there for someone else, but it's a lottery as to whether those two people ever cross paths. I feel like I've won the lottery, such has been my luck. 😊 Edited October 24, 2022 by Trail Blazer 6

Due to Covid I hadn't met any of her friends for a very long time. Likewise, she hadn't met any more of mine for some period after we started dating. Both her friends and my other friends respectively get along with each other. I've become friends with one of her friends' husband, and vice versa with one of my best buddies and his wife. My kids absolutely adore her and so too does my mom. I've managed to get back home to Idaho, but only in the last two months, where my mom's long-term partner gave his tick of approval. 😂

Covid came at a time where both of us were so glad we'd met and spent a little time together before the world became a lot more complicated. In a way, Covid was a sort of blessing in disguise, as it forced us in to a situation where she moved in with me and we quickly realized we'd love to buy a place together. With not much happening in the world, we just saved hard for that down payment.
