Thinking about checking in

Recommended Posts

my ex dumped me 3 months ago. it was hard for the first few weeks but i got over it as best i could. thankfully work has kept me busy enough to keep my mind off her. i still think about her though, and i have been holding back the urge to reach out. would it be out of line to send a message and see how she is? is it still too soon to try to reconnect? i'm not thinking about reestablishing our relationship, but i miss her a bit. she went on a trip to lebanon recently, i want to know how it went, as well as her birthday. should i just leave her alone?

If you’re comfortable being nothing but platonic friends and seeing her move on with other guys, sure.

Otherwise she ended it with you because she didn’t trust you /didn’t think you were faithful in the relationship. Do you think you can be friendly knowing what she thought of you?

Move forwards. Some dead ends are really just dead ends. Every time you think about going back think of a loop that goes nowhere and leads you back to where you are. Time is ticking and life is passing by. Meet new people. Try new things.

If she dumped you and has not tried to keep in contact, you can assume that she is not interested in keeping any sort of connection alive.

Also, it would suck if you try to be friendly and then learn she's met someone else. This isn't worth reviving, OP

Make sure your life is busy with activities, interests, friends, socializing and of course dating.

It's been 3 mos so it's time to fill some voids.

That way you can resist the urge to contact her, particularly if you don't even want to reconcile.
