Pad, when you initially tried this, did you go cold turkey or

ease into it? You mentioned that you felt better as you got

further along, but where the initial phases difficult for you

and in what ways where they? What worked for you, and

what did not work for you?

I did not go cold turkey with adjusting my diet but I did start with the suppliments right away and then 6 weeks later added a few more. I was feeling much better, I was sleeping better, bathroom usage was better, I was more alert and could think clearer. I have suffered from mild depression almost my whole life and I felt that lifting. while taking the full regimine of suggested suppliments I felt so good. But since I have not taken all of them because I have been in financial difficulties for the past 2 months I have not purchased them when I run out. I am almost out of everything.

My thoughts exactly! After all, even aspirin was derived from a natural substance, before it went into high production as a synthetic.

Quote: White Willow Bark

Willows have been used for centuries for pain relief and reduction of fever. The leaves can be chewed, and contain salicylic acid. This compound has been synthesized into acetylsalicylic acid, otherwise known as aspirin. Natural salicylic acid is nearly as potent as aspirin, however, the compound salicin from willow does not cause gastric or intestinal upset or bleeding as aspirin can, This is because willow does not block prostaglandins in the stomach or intestines.

before any 'naturalists' out there start bashing the $$$-making real doctors, let's not forget that the herbalists are also making money off you by plugging their natural remedies?

Everyone in this world is trying to make a living and some people do take extreme advantage of others by schemes and manipuation. All medicine has its place. Even my herbalist agrees to that. Not all of it is good and not all of it is bad!!.. I use all sources of medicine as needed and as to what is necessary but I prefer all natural substances if at all possible because they body has a very hard time breaking down synthetic stuff and eliminating it from the body.

As a note: I have compared the price of some of the supplliments my herbalist carries and have found the same product at Walmart and its cheaper at my herbalists office so that goes to show not everyone is out to rob everyones pocket....You can look at my herbalist and see that he isn't into lining his pockets heavily. He doesnt' even dress well. You can tell by looking at someone if they are into material possesions. He is not..

just curious, how did your herbalist come to the conclusion that you suffered from all those disorders? What tests did he give you? Were any of them blood tests? Or did he go just by a physical exam? What exactly did he prescribe for you, re: supplements?

Almost everything the herbalist told me after his EXAMINATION confirmed what my western medicine doctors have told me. I have lived in that damn hospitals and clinics for the last 14 years. I have damn near every test possible. I have been diagnosed with Endometrosis, Fibromyalgia, I have Arthritis in my back, hips, knees, shoulders and hands. I am loose legimented, have low blood pressure and poor circulation. I was told I was borderline hyperglycimic. I have had a history of kidney stones that have put me in the emergency room. I have suffered anemia my whole life untl the last 2 years.

I don't know the name of the tests the herbalist did on me but I do know he looked at my skin, nails, hair, he looked into my eyes with a magnafying glass, he looked into my mouth at my tounge and inside my cheeks. He tested me for strength and sturdiness. I asked me questions about my general health. There were things I didn't tell him that he told me and I confirmed them while he was looking in my eyes. He could tell I recently ended my period by the size of the blood vessels in my eyes. That was weird. He knew I had been having some bowel issues as well by looking in my eyes. I suffer from IBS at times. He was able to determine that also. I didn't tell him.

He is trained in some kind of Chinese Healing also. Some of the things he told me about myself, that only I know, surprised me.. So those of you who are sceptical you can just go ahead and be that way. At least I know I am open minded and I am willing to do my research and find ways to better the quality of my life or at least understand it... You can just go about your lives and ignor your health and your aches and pains. I prefer not too. I want quality and quantity of life.. I am sick of pain, I am sick of being sick, I am sick of being told I wouldn't walk past the age of 60 and that I will die young.. I refuse to believe all the specialist at that big hospital that have told me these things and yet can't tell me why I have all these health problems... I have been stuffed full of pain killers, muscle relaxers, antidepressants, antiflamitorys, etc etc. I have taken enough birthcontrol to kill a horse (its made out of horse urine anyway!!!).. I sick of being sick and before I end up so bad off like my dad who has MS and his mother who had MD I am going to do my part to find a way to beat all these aliments that are developing in me before I end up in a nursing home or paralyzed by the time I am 60 years old.

Here the list of suppliments that I was started on:

Magnesium Malate

Indol-3-Carbinol

Calcium D-Glucarate

Kyo-dophilus

B12 Active

Natural d-Alpha Vitamin E

Omega-3

LifeForce Multiple Energy Activator

Ester C

Stress Formula B-Complex

Selenium

Chrominum Picolinate

Triphala

Garlic

I watched my ex-mother-in-law get pulled into suppliments by Amway, Mellaluca and some other distributors and their was no change in her using their products.

I was recommended to my herbalist by Northwestern College here in the twin cities which is a Christian College. They directed me to a reputable herbalist who IS a teacher of herbs. As I said before my Herbalist has been a herbalist for over 25 years, is a instructor and travels the midwest teaching. He also does research to fomulate new compounds etc etc.. He is not a money hungry man. He gives a lot of stuff away for free. Including his office fees. He doesn't have a fancy elaborate office that is perfectly decorated and he doesn't dress in fancy, name brand clothes. He is down to earth. he is humble and confident.

So like I said those of you who want to be skeptic-thats your choice. Dont come in here and start bashing what I believe or try to throw others off who want info.

I am not a sucker.... I am not a push over.... I do my research on stuff now, I ask a lot of questions. I hat the internet hard. I have been thrown around the medical world with western medicine and put on so much crap that made me sicker. I believe our bodies can heal themselves with proper nutrition and since out food supply doesnt have all the nutrients in it we need we HAVE to take suppliments in order to get them..

I am not perfect, I have a hard time staying on my regime. I don't have a good income I barely barely get by in life.

(sorry am at work and couldn't finish posting.)

I do what I can to take care of my own health. Like I said I am not perfect, I indulge in foods and activities that are not good for me but "O'Well" its my life and at times I want to enjoy.. Since I have not been taking all the suppliments suggested I have been tired, weak, IBS is back, I have been fighting off illness again. I am not sleeping as well and my body is aching once again..

I DO NOT believe it is mental either...

I believe in my Herbalist. I believe in my Gonstad Tech. Chiropractor, and I believe Western Medicine is great for things that are really serious.

LS isn't meant to be a private message board for two people to have a discussion. If that's your intent, you should take it to PM.

I have no intent on using LS as a private message board..

The questions and statements I responded to were from several posters not just one. If I wanted a private conversation with someone I wouldn't make it on a public board.. Anyone can post their own input.. I personally don't think its right for someone to totally slam another persons beliefs and/or make a tug-of-war over people trying to get them to take sides. People have a right to get information and form their own opinions..
