I'm too shy to even say hi

I'm new to the site, and i have a huge problem! I like this girl who i've know since i was about 6 (her cottage is next to mine). We hadn't talked for about 5 or 6 years up untill last summer, we hung out about at our cottages and went out for coffee. We talked a bit over msn during the winter but eventually stopped. I want to start talking to her again, but i'm to shy to say hi to her, even on msn. I'm afriad she wont want to talk to me. I've asked my firends about it and all they tell me is that "there's only one way to find out!" I don't like this cause it results in me having to break the ice! Do you think she wouldn't want to talk to me? Should i just throw caution to the wind and give it a try? What if i run out of things to talk about?

 

Any help would be great!

I was shy when I was about, oh, 6. But I hated being shy, so I decided to start talking to girls. Well, I talked to them for a while and some were nice enough, but I had to wait until I was 16 to actually land one in the boat. And you know what, a lot of that time in between I got ridiculed, snickered at, and one even took my good pen. But I lived, and I was able to grow strong.

 

Goddammit give her a friggin' message. Say, "What's up? I used to live next to you and wondered how you were? Want to meet for coffee this week?"

 

No reply? Big deal. Turn the eye towards another woman and move forward, step by step, until your shyness drops away like a shriveled snake skin.

Thanks, i needed a good slap in the face..... We talked for 10 minutes or so than she said she had to go to a lecture, if she made that up fine whatever i'll find someone else! Really wasn't as big a deal as i thought it would be
